AirSoft guns are considered a projectile weapon, so all laws for projectile weapons apply. there may be more laws that we are unaware of, and if you know them, please let us know.

Federal laws exist that require all Airsoft guns to have specific "day glow orange" markings on the barrels in an attempt to make them easy to distinguish from real weapons. - wikipedia.com
I have seen many for sale online as well as in stores without these, and am unsure of the law. It may be on either imported guns, or ones produced in the states that need these.


According to Cole County's own Sherrif White, AirSoft must be played on private land, outside city limits, to minimize the risk of an accidental shooting by a law enforcement officer or concerned citizen. Remember, many of these guns do look real. Take a look at the picture below, yes, that is an airsoft gun.
