Continental Drift
Alfred Wegner’s Bio.
Alfred was born on November
first, 1880. He was a scientist who proposed the idea of continental drift. He
thought that continental drift states that parts of the earth’s crust slowly
drift atop a liquid core. His idea was not accepted because he had thought of
something different from what other scientist were researching. Soon afterward
his idea was slowly being accepted. Then after a while they found proof of
continental drift. They had proof with fossils, weather and rock clues.

Continental Drift
Did you
know that the continents are moving apart right this very moment? Well they are
but you cant observe it because they are moving so slowly. Many people thought
this was not true before. Now scientist have more advanced technology so they
can find more to prove the fact. If you really think about it, it is really
strange. Of course look at the facts how can you find a kannemeyerid fossil in
North America and in Eurasia when the continents are so far apart. They can’t
jump over water, can they? A fact is a fact!
Introducing Pangaea
Scientists think that about
286-325 million years ago all the continents formed together to make one or two
super continents. Scientists also think that the fact that the continents look
as if they would fit together is very important. There are also climate clues,
rock clues, and fossil clues. If you’re interested in finding out more of this
interesting discovery click on the link called Pangaea.
