Dolby Digital Surround EX was co-developed by Dolby and Lucasfilm THX in time for the release in May 1999 of Star Wars: Episode I—The Phantom Menace. It provides an economical and backwards-compatible means for 5.1 soundtracks to carry a sixth, center back surround channel for improved localization of effects.

IFCO, a statutory body first established in 1923, is responsible for examining and certifying al cinema films and videos/DVDs distributed in Ireland. Our aim is to provide the public and parents in particular with a modern and dependable system of classification. Last year (2005) IFCO classified 549 cinema works (including trailers) and 9632 video works.
