I am a parent with a daughter who has Type 1 Diabetes. I made insulin covers for her vials so they would protect them from breaking & keep them cool. They can fit any 10 ml vial of any medication. She & I both have broken them several times throughout the years. After an incident where she broke all three vials while on vacation,I had to find an open pharmacy late one night. It took about two hours to find one & then had to pay out of pocket for all the vials. Insurance won't cover that. So I came up with the idea to make the covers. I've been using mine for about a year now & no vials have been broken. I test all three of the expired 10 ml insulin vials each month, Novolog, Novolin,& Lantus while in the covers by dropping them repeatedly from different heights from 1 inch to 6 ft. They can at least withstand falls from those ranges. I can't guarantee they wouldn't break from anything higher then a 6 ft drop. The vials fit snuggly inside the covers, are kept chilled & most of all protected from possible breakage. They are hand stitched, come in 3.5mm thickness, and a variety of colors. The covers are $2.00 each plus shipping & handling, with 10% of each order being donated to diabetes research. If you need to order 3 covers, the price would be $7.50 plus shipping and handling for all three. Warning:Because the vials will be covered, customer is responsible for making sure to use the correct insulin vial. Mark the covers to say what insulin it is on the cover. Customer is responsible for making sure they are dosing themselves correctly with the right insulin needed. If you don't, you use these at your own risk.
