 29/30 Songs 3/? Secrets
"Starters" is basically the prologue to Ike Pie. I began working on these simfiles at the beginning of 2006 with the intent to only put them on the dedicab at my local arcade. In all, I created 36 simfiles. Finally, towards the end of 2006, I decided to upload them online, and since then, they have been well received by the ITG community. As of now, I only have 22 simfiles up, because the other 14 need tweaking to their stepcharts/song files/graphics/etc. Unfortunately, a few songs of the remaining songs might never get uploaded because when I chose to write stepcharts to some of these songs several months ago, I was not thinking too clearly--some songs just can't yield good charts. For now, just consider them the "lost" files.

Song List
Stepcharts denoted with a tilde (~) are gimmick charts. A gimmick chart is basically a chart whose difficulty is derived mainly from a lot of mines, holds, rolls, hands, stretches (on double), jumps, and/or weird and unusual patterns. If there is a tilde in the BPM box, then that means that the stepfile has unusual BPM changes/pauses. Song titles colored in red are "boss" songs. Song titles denoted with an asterik (*) were secret songs that were released when somebody figured out how to uncover them. Every simfile has a song file in 48khz .ogg format, contains .png graphics, and uses .sm files. They're ready to go onto your USB stick for use with R21 or to hack into the machine. There are a few songs that are over two minutes in length, but I patched them up using this so that they will bypass the two-minute limit imposed by R21. Don't worry about the songs getting too long; the longest one on here is 2:08.

Ari Ari |
| Artist |
Lee Jung-hyun |
| BPM |
144 |
| Single |
1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 7 / 9 |
I love the powerful energy of this song; it makes a good foundation for a really nice stepchart, which I thought this turned out to be. |
 |
Bad Boy (Alex M vs. Marc Van Damme Remix) |
| Artist |
Cascada |
| BPM |
140 |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 10 |
A revision of my ITG entry for BemaniStyle's OSC5. |
 |
But It's Better if You Do |
| Artist |
PANIC! at the Disco |
| BPM |
170 |
| Single |
2 / 5 / 7 / 9 / 10 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 11 |
WTF? Mainstream music?! Yep, some mainstream music have great step potential. Give it a chance. |
 |
Computer Dreams |
| Artist |
Nina |
| BPM |
140 |
| Single |
1 / 2 / 5 / 7 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 7 / 9 |
The Hard-Single chart is dedicated to the cherished double-stepping found in almost every single DDR chart. And by the way, don't try IM'ing Computer_Dreams or NinaFan51290. They're not real. :P |
 |
NEW! Cry Die |
| Artist |
LHT ft. Nina |
| BPM |
142 |
| Single |
2 / 6 / 7 / 9 / 12 |
| Double |
5 / 7 / 9 / 12 |
There has always been this on-going trend with "sorrow" songs and weird complex charts. We've seen it in DDR (Rain of Sorrow, i feel..., Tears, basically the rest of the "Sorrow" oni course), and even ITG2 tried to hop on the "sorrow" bandwagon (see: Amore). So, here's the "Ike Pie" interpretation of a sorrow song. The Hard stepcharts very well indeed have strange rhythms, and the Expert charts combine complexity with density for an overall technical and stamina-draining boss song. //This song contains BG-Scripts, beware (?). |
 |
Dance, Dance |
| Artist |
Fall Out Boy |
| BPM |
115 |
| Single |
1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 7 / 10~ |
When I made the Expert-Double chart, I wanted all the difficulty to be derived from the hands, and nothing else--no complex rhythms, no tricky crossovers, no stamina-draining runs, etc. I think I accomplished that because without them, that chart would be like a 7. Treat your hands well. |
 |
Do it all Night |
| Artist |
E-Rotic |
| BPM |
143 |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 6 / 7 / 11 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 11 |
E-Rotic has always one of my favorite DDR licenses, so I often like to do DDR-to-ITG crossovers. The Expert-Single chart may feel like an easy 11, like Charlene, but it's streamier than most 10s. |
 |
Every Time We Touch |
| Artist |
Cascada |
| BPM |
71 - 142 (primary) |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 9 |
I mainly concentrated on both Hard stepcharts for this song (yes, I care about the Hard charts). Both charts should somewhat resemble DDR charts, the ones that are fun and that have flow. |
 |
Golddiggers |
| Artist |
Günther |
| BPM |
132 |
| Single |
1 / 2 / 5 / 7 / 11 |
| Double |
- / - / 7 / 9 |
My entry for BemaniStyle's OSC5 DDR division. I basically revised it by ITG-fying it, including adding an Expert chart (Charlene again?), a set of Double charts, and twenty more seconds to the song. |
 |
Halloween -Speedy Mix-
|
| Artist |
Aqua |
| BPM |
85 - 170 (primary) |
| Single |
2 / 3 / 6 / 8 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 10 |
I think this song made its debut in the stepfile world when it was entered in DDRei's Tournamix 5. Since then, there have been several renditions of this song, some good, some bad. You might notice a few differences in this particular simfile, such as the BPM is 5 BPM higher than most of the sped-up Halloween's out there, because I like working with 170. I just really wanted to point that out. Hopefully this Halloween simfile takes the gold. |
 |
Higher than a Skyscraper* |
| Artist |
Hybrid ft. Peter Hook |
| BPM |
155 |
| Single |
3 / 6 / 8 / 9 / 13 |
| Double |
- / 8 / 9 / 14 |
Ah yes, the Determinator of 13's. The Single-Expert stepchart not only drains the player's stamina and tests his/her ability to crossover, but also requires really fast foot speed that no other ITG 13 had previously required. HTAS SE is passable. My score was 67%, and I was really just bs'ing my way through. I don't feel that it should be a 14, but it does indeed set another kind of standard for 13's. The Double-Expert chart, on the other hand... //This song contains BG-Scripts, beware (?). |
 |
Jump |
| Artist |
Every Little Thing |
| BPM |
152 (primary) - 304 |
| Single |
1 / 2 / 6 / 8 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 11~ |
Hands and stretching gimmicks are far too common on Double, but what about jumping across from one pad to the other? And what would be a more appropriate song for that than a song titled "Jump"? |
 |
Masquerade |
| Artist |
Machinae Supremacy |
| BPM |
80 - 160 (primary) - 400 |
| Single |
2 / 3 / 5 / 8 / 11~ |
| Double |
3 / 5 / 8 / 9 |
I would like to call Expert-Single's gimmick chart "DrumMania with your feet". Basically, your left foot plays the hi-hat, and your right foot plays the snare. From there, it switches and varies. |
 |
One Night Stand |
| Artist |
Günther |
| BPM |
145 |
| Single |
1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 9 |
We know what to do! *wink* ...Ahem. Yes, this song is all in quarter notes and 12th notes. Good for some bouncy fun, because bouncy fun is what Günther is all about. |
 |
ROLLING1000tOON |
| Artist |
Maximum the Hormone |
| BPM |
140ish |
| Single |
1 / 5 / 7 / 9 / 11 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 12 |
I guess one of the main things that will stand out the most in this stepfile is the erratic synching, but I wasn't going to let the synching issues stop me from release from what I think is a pretty fun Single-Expert stepchart (not so much for those who hate step-jump-step-jump patterns). If you think you can synch the chart better than me, please contact me and send me your version. |
 |
Roppongi Carillon |
| Artist |
Blue Roses |
| BPM |
159 |
| Single |
2 / 4 / 7 / 9 / 12 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 11 |
MP3 file borrowed from KingKirby87's DDRei Tournamix 5 entry. A simple 12 on Expert-Single, let me know if it's too much like an 11 instead. The graphics are from photos that I took in Italy. =) |
 |
Sexual Healing (Speed Mix) |
| Artist |
E-Rotic |
| BPM |
160 |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 7 / 9 / 10 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 10~ |
The BPM was sped up from the original because the KCP mix was too bland. Have fun with the Expert-Double stepchart; it'll faintly remind you of Exotic Ethnic Heavy-Double, remember that? |
 |
Shooting Star |
| Artist |
Bang |
| BPM |
177 |
| Single |
2 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 11 |
One of the first things people might think about the Single-Expert chart is that it should be an 11, so let me explain why I rated it a 10. Pretty much everything up to the end part is a hard 9. If you have enough stamina to make it through other ITG 10's such as Know Your Enemy, then that part should not be a problem. The ending is pretty much a hard 10 or borderline 11, but it all evens out with the rest of the stepchart, averaging to a 10. Plus, if you have no problem with ITG 10's such as Tension, Disconnected Hyper, or Sunshine, then the ending of Shooting Star should not be that much of a problem. |

So I Wait |
| Artist |
Sarina Paris |
| BPM |
98 - 130 (primary) |
| Single |
1 / 2 / 5 / 8 / 10 |
| Double |
- / - / 7 / 9 |
That Expert-Single chart will be the last Walking on Fire, I promise. In the mean time, I recommend trying the Hard-Single chart for some simple fun. |
 |
Soul Meets Body |
| Artist |
Death Cab for Cutie |
| BPM |
128 |
| Single |
1 / 3 / 5 / 8 / - |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 10~ |
The main reason I made a simfile for this song was because I wanted to make a Double stepchart similar to Reactor Expert-Double. The Single-Hard chart has a hint of Holic Heavy-Single. |
 |
Sounds of Life |
| Artist |
Pendulum |
| BPM |
44 - 87 - 174 (primary) |
| Single |
3 / 6 / 8 / 9 / 13 // |
| Double |
6 / 8 / 9 / 13 |
I know the ending should be in 24th notes, not 16th notes, but that's just crazy! Why don't you go look for a chart that has 24th notes instead? |
 |
Teeny Weeny String Bikini |
| Artist |
Günther |
| BPM |
132 |
| Single |
1 / 3 / 5 / 8 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 9 |
The Expert-Single chart is probably the Birdie or the No Princess of all my charts. Hopefully nobody will get sick of my Günther songs, because there are two more coming up (ONS and TFSL). |
 |
The Only Difference... |
| Artist |
PANIC! at the Disco |
| BPM |
85 - 170 (primary) |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 7 / 9 / 9~ |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 10 |
If you haven't figured from the during thirty seconds of the Single-Expert chart: yes, you're supposed to double-step all the way through and not cross-over once. If DDR can have a million stepcharts with a million double-steps, then, well, Ike Pie should have at least one too. |
 |
Tori no Uta -The Speedfreak's Noise Rave Mix- |
| Artist |
DJ Sharpnel |
| BPM |
180 |
| Single |
2 / 5 / 7 / 9 / 11 |
| Double |
- / - / 9 / 10 |
| Solo |
- / - / - / 10 |
I originally entered as a 6-panel entry is BemaniStyle's OSC5 tiebreaker round. I included that chart, but if you don't want to play 6-panel, the Expert-Double chart is based off of the same chart. |
 |
True to Form |
| Artist |
Hybrid ft. Peter Hook |
| BPM |
136 |
| Single |
1 / 5 / 7 / 8 / 11 |
| Double |
4 / 6 / 9 / 11 |
Probably one of my favorite Expert-Single 11's. The stepchart has a nice build-up to the final long stream, which is completed with cross-overs and 24th notes to a sound in the background. |
 |
Tutti Frutti Summer Love |
| Artist |
Günther |
| BPM |
130 |
| Single |
1 / 3 / 4 / 7 / 10 |
| Double |
- / - / 7 / 10 |
Slightly based off Spin-Chicken Single-Expert. This 10 is a pretty simple but fun and stamina draining chart. However, my absolute favorite thing about this stepfile is the art. |
 |
Valenti |
| Artist |
Boa |
| BPM |
104 |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 9 |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 12~ |
I admit that I got pretty crazy when I made the Easy and Medium charts, and oh god, like Habanera 1, the Expert-Double chart pays homage to Pump It Up's wonderful Nightmare charts, except Valenti does it a lot worse than Habanera 1. |
 |
Want to do tonight |
| Artist |
Nina |
| BPM |
135 |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 |
| Double |
5 / 7 / 8 / 11 |
(Silhouette courtesy of Baker18, an old Internet friend from long ago.) I entered this song into DDRei's Tournamix 6 competition a long time ago, but it took about 6 revisions before I finally got the Hard/Expert-Single charts right. |
 |
We're going to birdie |
| Artist |
EuroFrog |
| BPM |
135 |
| Single |
1 / 4 / 5 / 8 / 10~ |
| Double |
- / - / 8 / 9 |
The Expert-Single chart is strangely popular on the hacked dedicab at my arcade. That's weird because this chart is largely based on Twilight, but hardly anybody ever plays that here. |
