I'm not sure which of the newer versions this is. I have about four different ones, and I cannot trust the labels, but this one is the one I prefer. I have mixed feelings about Nikki French. Her songs, or at least some of them, as I have not heard all of them, take on a sort of damsel-in-distress, looking-for-Prince-Charming aspect to them. That sort of thing does not appeal to my more rational side, but there is still something attractive about, for lack of a better way of putting it, the prospect of being a rescuer. I would not actually want a female with that mentality, but there is some slight appeal. Frou Frou does a fantastic cover of Holding Out For A Hero, which plays during the end credits of the movie Shrek 2. For anyone familiar with Imogen Heap, and does not know, she is the singer for Frou Frou. Interestingly enough, I don't care for her solo work, but I think she great in Frou Frou. |
