Howwood is stocked on a daily basis with quality, fully finned rainbows, browns and exciting blue trout averaging 2lbs our supplier Dave Pate of Belhaven renowned for his quality fish. In addition to our normal stocking's several fish in the 4 to 7lb bracket are introduce on a weekly basis and for the specimen hunters double figure trout are stocked throughout the year.

Blue 5lb 4oz

Although Howwood has a healthy population of large fish the emphasis is on quality, hard fighting trout with a fantastic condition rather than a bloated flabby flank.  The fishery is stocked at a density of around 150 fish per acre so at any one there are between 1400 and 1600 hard-fighting high quality trout for you to catch.Be wary though, if you hit into one of our big over-wintered rainbows, you will certainly have a fight on your hands
