Our 2007 Summer Riding Camp is a hands on horse camp. We will cover safety on and around horses and ponies, handling and grooming, parts of the horse, and parts of the saddle and bridle.
The morning will include riding sessions, learning to tack up, and cool down a horse. There will be a daily horse-related craft, games and a puzzle.
Campers will learn about horse nutrition and horse health care in the afternoon. There will be an afternoon grooming session and a second session of riding with cool down, cleaning of tack, and more information on the daily care of a horse.
On Thursday afternoon practice demonstrations and crafts will replace riding.
On Friday, campers will participate in a horse show. In the morning they will groom, clean tack and get ready for the show. There will be a pizza lunch, camper demonstrations and the big show! Families are welcome to bring their chairs and spend the afternoon rooting for the campers in their very own show.
