The Injustice Society of the World is an organization founded in the 1940s as the criminal
counterpart to the Justice Society of America.
The original Injustice Society was made up of the brain Wave, the Gambler, Per Degaton, the Thinker, Vandal Savage, and the Wizard. The Society attempted to take over the United States through three means: releasing hordes of criminals from prison to serve as the Society's army, substituting android look-alikes for various individuals in important positions, and destroying the Justice Society . The JSA foiled this conspiracy and imprisoned the Injustice Society members.
The second Injustice Society consisted of the Fiddler, the Harlequin, the original Huntress, the Icicle, the Sportsmaster, and, once again, the Wizard. In order to determine who was to be leader, the Wizard suggested the so-called "Patriotic Crimes." Each member would attempt to steal an object of great historical value, and whoever committed the most spectacular theft would become leader. In the course of these crimes, even the Washington Monument was stolen. The Injustice Society members captured the Justice Society members and used the Wizard's "mind- eraser" machine to make them their amnesiac slaves. But the Harlequin and Black Canary freed the Justice Society members from their hypnotized state, and the Justice Society captured the Injustice Society members and returned what they had stolen.
Decades later the Injustice Society was revived with the Gambler, the original Huntress, the Icicle, the Shade, the Sportsmaster, and the Wizard as members. This time the Society fought both the Justice Society and the Justice League of America but was again defeated.
Still later, the Injustice Society re-emerged, this time made up of the Brain Wave, the Fiddler, Solomon Grundy, the Thinker, and the Wizard, with the Icicle acting as chairman. The Society formed an alliance with Aym the Underlord, the leader of a subterranean race of beings, and took over the headquarters of the Justice Society. The Injustice Society members attempted to kill the then active members of the Justice Society, but the Justice Society once again defeated their criminal counterparts.
