Dr. Light could invent various advanced light-based gadgets, with Typical skill. His inventions have been known to include the following effects:
Dr. Light can create realistic images, with Feeble ability, or within 2 areas of his gadget (which he can leave in hidden spaces). The images must be programmed into the gadget, but are very realistic, if he has time to work on the simulation.

Dr. Light can create spacial and dimensional warps, with Good ability; however, navigation is difficult and the power needs extreme.

Dr. Light could project a beam of seemingly "solid light." Depending on the setting used, he could use it as a type of battering ram, doing Excellent damage (enough to penetrate concrete or bullet-proof glass); or as a type of bridge, able to support Excellent weight (about 800 lbs.)

Dr. Light can project a heat beam of Amazing intensity, or the equivalent of the inside of a blast furnace.

The Secret Society of Super-Villains
Dr. Arthur Light, a physicist, long intended to use his scientific talents for crime. He got his chance after he invented a device that he hoped would enable him to view the future. Instead, he discovered that it allowed him to see what was happening on other planets. Moreover, when he focused on an optics laboratory on the planet Thanagar, he found that the screen had somehow come to act as the focal point of a space warp. Light passed through the screen, looted the Thanagarian laboratory, and returned the way he had come. He modified the stolen equipment to serve his purposes and, armed with his own discoveries, began his career as the costumed criminal Doctor Light. A Thanagarian lawman came to Earth, fought Light, and recovered the stolen equipment, but Light escaped.

Doctor Light next attempted to defeat the entire Justice League of America at once by hurling them into other-dimensional worlds where he thought they would be trapped. The Leaguers, however, escaped and imprisoned Light. Over the following years Light primarily devoted himself to attempts to defeat individual Justice League members, failing each time. Finally, he formed his own group of super-villains, the Fearsome Five. Yet, not only was this team continually thwarted by the Teen Titans, but Light was also unable to resist challenges to his leadership from one of the team members, Psimon.

Weary of his many failures, Doctor Light has given up his life of crime. A new individual using his name has since appeared.
