All-Star Squadron #29 With the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and America's entry into World War II, America's mystery-men, at the direct request of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, banded together in one organization to help oppose the Axis menace, both at home and abroad. This group included the entire membership of the Justice Society of America, the Seven Soldiers of Victory, and the Freedom Fighters, as well as several non-affiliated mystery-men. The Squadron answered solely to FDR and the War Department. Hawkman chaired the first formal meeting of the All-Stars, before Liberty Belle was elected permanent chair-woman. Plastic Man served as FBI liaison to the group, which remained in place until the conclusion of World War II.
