If you haven't seen Entourage or haven't seen enough to get the whole jist of it and would like to learn more, Entourage 101 will school you on the basics!
Entourage is a half-hour comedy series that began in 2004 and airs on HBO. Two seasons have aired and a third is scheduled to air in the summer of 2006. Unfortunately, you will have to pay in one way or another to legally see Entourage, as it does not air on basic cable and probably won't anytime soon. Subscribing to HBO if you haven't already, or purchasing the first season on DVD are great ways to see the show. Most fans would agree that it is a blessing that this show airs on HBO because this allows for the mildly graphic content that adds immensely to the realism of the series.
Entourage is a light-hearted comedy that follows the exploits of four friends. Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) is a hot young star in Hollywood, new to the spotlight with only a few feature films under his belt. Vince is also brand new to the wealth he has suddenly come into, making millions from studio films. He is at all times flanked by his entourage consisting of his three best friends: E (Kevin Connolly), Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon), and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara). All four have known eachother since early childhood and the chemistry between them makes this extremely evident. E, short for Eric is Vince's talent manager as he helps steer Vince in the right direction when it comes to things like choosing what movies to do. Johnny Drama is Vince's older half-brother, an out of work actor who has been around Hollywood longer than the others. Turtle is Vince's gopher as well as his most loyal fan.
The other main character of the show rounding out the cast is Vince's egotistical and workaholic superagent Ari (A brilliant Jeremy Piven). Ari has been representing Vince since his career first began to rise and will stop at nothing to get him to the top, and of course make quite a bit of money for himself along the way. It seems that Ari truly cares about what is best for Vince's career, however he doesn't always see eye to eye with Vince (Although he sucks up to him), and he frequently butts heads with Eric, who is admittidley new to the business.
Maybe the show doesn't sound like much from this short description, but you'd be well advised to give it a chance. With the great writing and phenomenal chemistry between the cast it's a hit with many audiences! For example, I'm a 20 year old male who loves it. Another member of my family who loves it is my mom, a female in her 50s! Check it out if you haven't already!
