Zen and The Art of Telemarketing

 

The Zen Zone

 

       1. The grass grows by itself.

    2. Easy is right.

    3. Get out of your  own way.

    4.  Struggling is not going to make the call more successful.

    5.  In the same way you can't try to go to sleep. You can't try to be a good telemarketer. Trying is antagonistic to sleeping. Trying is antagonistic to telemarketing.

   6. Put your mind on cruise control and let it flow or, as some people say, let it ride.

   7. Learn how to think without thinking

   8. Learn how to  see without thinking.

   9. When you're doing well don't identify with it. 

   10. When you're doing poorly don't identify with it.

   11. In other words don't identify with success or failure-because to identify with either means to get stuck.

   12. When you're stuck thinking you're a failure or stuck thinking  you're successful-stuck is stuck and when your energy  you're not flowing and glowing. Remain lucid at all times-remain fluid and not mechanical. The river is going to the ocean  by itself. You don't need to move the river. In other words-go with the flow and not against the flow.

    13. Power steering is the way. Manuel steering is not the way. We are not the doer.

    14. The energy is moving by itself. We simply need to allow it to happen on its own and stay alert. If we stay alert prosperity is not far away.

    15.  If you can prevent burnout in the call center the sky is the limit. Boredom is living death and ultimately will be your death in telemarketing. Boredom will make you utterly exhausted.

    16. If you can get yourself to a truly meditative state you can work 12 hours a day without getting tired. If you are fresh every moment life is an enjoyment and not an endurance.

    17. Life itself is the constant process  of transforming life every moment from endurance to enjoyment.. Every moment is a blessing and a benediction. Every moment brings great joy and prayer.

 What is prayer?  Prayer  is a deep heartbeat  or thankfulness.

     18.  Put your brain on automatic pilot.

    19. Move from the head to the heart.

    20. Be sincere-but not serious. Seriousness is an illness.

    21. Attitude is everything.  Pour your good mood into your voice.

 

 

Making The Call

 

The script is a song. 

The script is a vibration.

The script is a rhythm.

The rhythm is primary-the words are secondary. The words are just an excuse. When you are in harmony and in rhythm the words just take care of themselves. Focus on the rhythm and great words will come of their own accord.

Let your song be short and sweet. Let your song be succinct-sincere and soothing. Let your rhythm flow. When you get the sale or not keep your rhythm the same. Never let the customer take you out of your rhythm. Whether they say yes or no-you remain the same, you remain centered. Keep your energy centered. Let your song be made music and not noise. Speak with a still calm voice. Don't become identified with successes or failure. Simply remain alert and good things will happen.
