All About Us

How did this crew come about? We three have a common tie. We all work at Massanutten Resort in the winter time at the Rental/Repair Shop and love to snowboard. The pic on the main page is from a "Hobo" trip to Snowshoe (in WV) back in March. That was a story in itself!! Below is a little bit about each of us.

Name: Dustin

Road Name: Glue

Birth Day: 04/04/88

Height: 5'8 1/2"

Weight: 170

Ride: Jamis Aurora

Why Cross Country: I am finished with high school and want to have fun.

Who are you? A good kid that screwed up, learned my lesson, but feel like I'll be paying for it forever.

Three things to describe me: Serious, hard working, but chill.

Biggest Fear: Not knowing when and how or what button to push or pull to shift gears on my new road bike.

Biggest Fear on the Trip: Hemorrhoids

Say Anything: I'd like to thank my Nan and Pop-family, the whole new crew and friends.

Name: Jimmy

Road Name: Teacher (temp)

Birth Date: 09/02/82

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 147

Ride: Jamis Ventura

Why Cross Country: I want to see our country and experience an adventure that I not only remember forever, but changes my outlook on life and the diverse cultures that form our country.

Who Are You: I am a JMU Grad student with too many hobbies, ready to get out of his little bubble and see the people that make up this astounding country. I also laugh too much, play too much, eat too much and pay way to much for gas!

Biggest Fear: Colonoscopy

Biggest Fear on the Trip: Looking like a starved prisoner of war - already shaved my head!

Say Anything: Anything is no simple word let me tell ya. You can do anything, you can say anything, and "anything" can happen. The cool thing about anything though, is that for anything to happen, you have to do it. Our "anything" is a 4,000 mile bike ride. I thank everyone, because without you, your help, your support, love, and motivation, this adventure would not be possible. Keep it coming 'cause I'm gonna need it!!!

Ride: Redline Conquest R

Why Cross Country: I've wanted to ride cross country since 1980ish when I saw someone with bags on their bike doing it.

Who Are You: I am a 41 yr old mother of one grown boy in the middle of a huge change in my life looking to heal.

Biggest Fear: Not getting all the fun things done that I want to before I get too old.

Biggest Fear on the Trip: Dustin getting hemorrhoids and something happening that will cancel or shorten the trip

Say Anything: I want to thank all of my family and "sponsors"for helping make this dream come true. Also, I'd like to thank my son for growing up to become a man that can take care of himself. Lastly I'd like to thank God for unanswered prayers.
