Ginger Beer Recipe

For the plant: In a jar, put 8 sultanas, the juice of two decent lemons, one teaspoon of the lemon pulp, 4 teaspoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground ginger. leave this to ferment for 3-4 days (you really need warm weather for this, at least 17 degrees or so). Then feed the plant with an additional 4 teaspoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of sugar every day for one week. Soon after you first feed the plant (within 2 or 3 days) you should see bubbles starting to appear in the sediment at the bottom. If this occurs, that you should be ready to make your Ginger Beer by the end of the week.

To make the beer: In a very large bowl/pot, place 4 cups of sugar along with 4 cups of boiling water. Then add the juice of 4 lemons. Add 28 cups of cold water to the mix, and then train the liquid from the plant itself, using a fine cloth such as a tea-towel and placing the liquid in the bowl/pot with everything else. Mix well & bottle. You could probably bottle it in anything as long as it is airtight. Makes around 10/11 Litres.
