This adorable silhouette was adapted from a vintage bathing suit from 1936. The types of fabrics used in the original garment were matched exactly. This means that stretch lycra used in contemporary bathing suits are not used in this or any of our other designs. You will find your experience wearing this suit to be comparible to the experience of a woman who wore the original in 1936.

The Ruby is stitched in a scarlet-colored, cotton satin with dusty rose satin contrast at the bust. The bodice is gathered at the side of the bust, as well as, at the center front when cinched in with the ties. The skirt has eight gores. The top of the Ruby is framed in a 2" band that becomes straps that button at the back. The Ruby has inset modesty trunks that are sewn in red knit jersey.
