Growing up in a small town in Alabama, George made the move to California after serving in the Marine Corps after college. Upon returning from Iraq, George moved to California and began working in real estate after a church member told him he would be good at it. After getting his start at Tarbell Realtors, the Hartline Group brokerage was established.
