Peko, 10 to the minus 12, Lower case p. Second row. Nan o, 10 to the minus 9 lower case n. Third row. Micro, 10 to the minus 6, greek letter lower case mu, a lower case english u is acceptable. Fourth row. Milli, 10 to the minus 3, lower case m. Fifth row. Killo, 10 to the positive 3, lower case k. Sixth row. Mega, 10 to the positive 6, capitol M. Seventh row. Giga, 10 to the positive 9, capitol G. Pronunciation notes. Pico is pronounced with a long e sound as in week. Nano is pronounced with a short A sound as in Ann. Milli may be pronounced with a long E sound, as in week, on the end, mill e or a short U sound, as in up, on the end, mill a. Kilo may be pronounced with a long E sound as in me, or a short I sound as in kill. The ending sound may be a short U, as in up, or a long O, as in oh. Giga is pronounced with a hard G as in girl, never a J sound. Case is important. The only distinction between the symbol for mega and milli is the case. Mega is a capitol M while milli is a lower case m. Reversing these can change the number by a factor of a billion. Be careful. End verbal description.
