Figure 2.3. Three lines join at the left. One of the lines extends horizontally to the right. About two thirds along the way to the end is an arrowhead. The arrowhead points to the right and is labeled V sub R. At the right end of the line is another arrowhead which is also pointing to the right and is labeled I. At the left where the lines join is another line which extends straight down. At the lower end of this line is an arrowhead which is pointing down and is labeled V sub C. The third line departs from the joining point and goes down and to the right. The end of the line is directly under the point of the arrowhead which is labeled V sub R. The end is also exactly to the right of the point of the arrowhead which is labeled V sub C. There is an arrowhead on the end of the sloping line which is pointing down and to the right. This point is labeled V sub G. There is an arc indicating the angle between the horizontal line and the sloping line. This angle is labeled theta. Although not shown in the diagram a line could be drawn straight down from V sub R to V sub G. Another line could be drawn horizontally from V sub C to V sub G, completing a rectangle which measures V sub R horizontally, and V sub C vertically. V sub G is the diagonal of the rectangle. End verbal description.
