FEDCO PLASTIC PLANT (Overview)

It has always been the duty of FEDCO to provide it’s member coops the necessary material inputs in the production of their bananas. There is a great need of these materials, that FEDCO strive to have its own machinery which will help the member cooperatives. The growing demand for Poly Bag, Vacuum Pack & Monorope, gives the idea of putting up a Plastic Plant of their own and for their own use. Since the availability of these products can be accessed through a very high priced and sometimes requires a huge capital in order to get these materials, Fedco was able to address this problem by providing their member coops a good quality but at a lower price plastic products.

FEDCO EXPANSION PROJECT (Calinan)

The current trend of Bananas in World Market focused not only to lowland bananas but consumers would likely demand Highland Cavendish Bananas.  For this reason, Fedco has planted a Cavendish Banana in highland area which currently intercrop with coconut trees.  The area planted is expected to start bearing fruits in December and harvest will commence between March to April in a 13-week cycle. Gradually, Fedco will continue to expand in a potential area which produces a good quality and competitive Highland Cavendish Banana.
