Bertha Morse, age 94, of Toledo, passed away Friday, February 22, 2002, at Harborside Healthcare of Bryan. Born March 21, 1907, in Petersburg, Michigan, she was the daughter of Peter and Cora DeShetler. Bertha was a homemaker and the last surviving sister of the ten DeShetler children. Surviving are children, Murlin (Helen) Ducat, James (Carol) Morse, Dr. Thomas (Cheryl) Morse, Elaine (Noble) Miller, Bonnie (Henry) Harrison, and JoANN (Robert) Goodell; 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Garland (Orv) in 1992; brothers, Jack, Bob, Tom, Ralph, and Eli, and sisters, Eva, Myrtle, Guila, and Lucille. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 p.m. at the H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, Trilby Chapel, (Alexis at Tremainsville Rd.), where services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
