Caryol J. Blaesing, age 68 years, passed away Friday, December 5, 1997, in the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Caryol was predeceased by her husband, Carl. She had worked for the Gladieux Corp. for 17 years and was a food service worker at Whittier School for over 14 years. She was past Chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 5536 and presently was a member of Post 2898. She was also a member of the Eagles and enjoyed reading and playing bingo. Caryol enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, George (Jeanne), Carl (Linda), David (Cassie), and Michael (Cindy); daughters, Luann (Alan) Behnen, Janet (Robert) Mauck; sisters, Linda Niner and Janice Cheeseman; half-sister, Kathy Chlebowski; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited by the family to the Blanchard Brothers Funeral Home, 1163 W. Sylvania Ave., (between Jackman Rd. & Lewis Ave.) beginning Sunday 6-9 p.m. and Monday 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. where there will be a VFW Ladies Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. Monday. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the mortuary with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials can be offered to the American Cancer Society or to the American Lung Association. Caryol will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
