Sporting Events of the school
Membership of Sport Bodies
ESUT is a member of NUGA (Nigerian Universities Games Association), WAUG (West African Universities Games Association), FASU (Federation of African Universities Sports) and FISU (World Universities Games).
The University is affiliated to the I.O.C (International Olympic Committee) through the above mentioned sports institutions.
Sports Programmes.
- Wednesday afternoons from 1.00p.m to 6.30 p.m are lecture free for sports.
- Intramural Sports.
There are inter-hostel faculty competitions every year normally in the month of March.
- Extra-mural Sports
Student athletes are encouraged to compete with their counterparts in other Universities in all sports.
- Collegiate or Varsity Sports.
All Nigerian Universities compete every two years in the Nigerian Universities Games (NUGA), ESUT has competed since 1982.
Sports Facilities
These are available at the following places:
- Army Barracks: for Squash Racket
- The Sports Club: for Lawn Tennis and Swimming
- Sports Council: for Lawn Tennis and Swimming
- Schools & Colleges: for Lawn Tennis and Swimming
Sport Fee: The University charges an annual sports fee per student.
Sports Regulations
- Every athlete is entitled to the use of the University sports equipment and facilities.
- Sports equipment are University property and should be returned to the sports store after use.
- Failure to return sports equipment after use or loss of sports equipment may attract the following punishment:
a. Payment of the lost or missing equipment or wear.
b. Suffering other disabilities that may be decided by the appropriate University authority.
- Wednesday afternoon sports are compulsory, for every student. Students are, therefore, expected to respect this regulation.
- Other rules on the use of University facilities and equipment apply equally to those of sports.
- Students are expected to register for their sports of interest at the beginning of the First Semester, every year.
