Why I do this..
Deforestation in Idaho – Roadless Policy
When thinking of buying a new house, or creating a new building people always think of land, but what they don’t realize is there harming there own environment when cutting down forests to make space. Inhabitants also generally don’t think long term into what will happen from cutting down forests, or the consequences. This is why there are such policies in the world as the roadless policy which help preserve areas of woodland.
The bulldozing of trees in Boise, Idaho affects everyone who lives in that area let alone everyone in the world. Its affect isn’t immediately visible but shows drastically over time. Deforestation comes useful only for agricultural, firewood, and timber harvesting while not for many other things. It can not help unemployment, violence, or other such important needs. From destroying the forests, there prowls a further failure in other places, such as rising unemployment, and a rapid growth in population. Throughout Idaho there is a great range of alliances against deforestation and many more environmentalist groups such as; Earth Justice Legal Defense Fund and the Natural Resources Defense Council. In roadless areas of Idaho, there are off limit locations where trees and forest can not be cut down, in order to preserve nature and homes of endangered species. Most often these places are where people take hikes and walks. The roadless policy helps protect fractions of Mother Nature indefinitely, preserving the areas and locations. Therefore, maintaining satisfaction between both the needs of the people, and the needs of planet Earth at a mutual agreement.
Ever since the 8th grade I found a great care and interest for the environment. Choosing this topic helped me learn more about something that I have had an interest for, for many years and to expand my knowledge upon the topic. Deforestation is a broad topic and is something happening around the entire world. To further promote the policy of keeping certain areas of forests off limits to bulldozing, citizens should stay aware about what is going on in there environments.
An action plan could be as simple as picking up trash and recycling which helps save the trees that are cut down for more landfill spaces, itself. So every ounce of helping involving the environment in general helps prevents deforestation and other environmental issues.
