Linda's 12 years old Pomeranian

Who fought the good fight!

Tuffy

Tuffy, our 12 years - 4 months - 20 days old, 8.5 pound male Pomeranian passed away this morning at approximately 5:30am. For those of you who do not know, Tuffy lived up to his name. In September of 2002 Tuffy was diagnosed with Lymphocytic Leukemia [GRADE 5]. He went through hell. At one point he was given only 48 hours to live. BUT, he beat the odds. HE beat the cancer. HE was COMPLETELY cancer free. You would never have known that he had been sick. Between the chemotherapy, natural supplements, his vet - Dr. Julie, our love and care, his per-diem Momma Bonnie's love and care, God, and HIS strong will to live....(see where the name Tuffy fit him so well), he was in more than remission, he was healed!

On Monday, the 22nd of September, 2003 Tuffy was this time diagnosed with an enlarged heart. His heart a year ago, for comparison, was 3 ribs wide, last week it was 5 ribs wide. The only indication of this was that you could see his whole body move as his heart beat. We were informed last year that Tuffy had some bad valves to his heart. Well, it finally made his heart very enlarged because it was working so hard. We had Tuffy on heart medication, but I guess that God and Tuffy decided that it was his time to go cross the Rainbow Bridge and be with his Grandma, (who taught him how to pray!)

We know that we were blessed that Tuffy was COMPLETELY healed of the cancer and that we had another year with him. And we know that we are also blessed that he went peacefully in his sleep. AND we are blessed to have had Tuffy in our lives.
