Dear potential WBL member


I have put together some basic league information. Please also find attached the league rules and regulations and League Constitution. If you have any further queries please contact Dean Carey, League Chairman, or Richard Styants, League Administrator.
Information


The Winchester Basketball League (WBL) is planned to start the week beginning 28
January 2007 and league games will be completed by the 6 May 2007.
All league and cup games will be played in Winchester.
Entry for the league and cup is £30 per team. This covers the administration costs
refereeing course costs and the cost of the trophies and presentation night.
Each team is required to nominate a coach, team secretary and a league committee
member.

Registration forms are to be completed and sent with the entry money to Richard
Styants at the address below by 31 December 2006

Rules
Rules are the Winchester Basketball League rules which are attached.

Referees
Each team will need to appoint at least 2 referees who can also be players, and provide table officials for there home games.
Referees will need to be either England Basketball (EB) qualified or they will need to have been on the WBL refereeing course.
Teams will need to provide referees for their appointed games. (a list of appointed games will be provided with the fixtures)
Away teams will pay for the referees (f for EB qualified £8.00 for WBL qualified no travel expenses to be paid unless agreed before hand)
Referees will be expected to wear a grey top and provide their own whistle.
League table point scoring
3 points will be awarded for a win
2 points for a loss of 10 or less points
1 point for a loss
