Thinking

I Started Thinking

Thinking

Debi Fisher

The sun finally rose

In the sky which is blue

I started thinking

About me and you

I'll clean the house

The dishes they'll stack

And the boys have been fighting

O'er in Iraq

I complain of the dandelions

They never complain

Yet arise every day

To do it again

I hate going to work

They go on a 5 mile trek

I get a lunch hour

Sometimes they get no respect

I'm grateful for the roof

That is over my head

Another day in the desert

Not complaining but going on instead

I love my freedom

And sometimes I forget

I am so free

For the fight that's just not done yet

So I am  just thinking

Feeling selfish and blue

My thoughts running random

But I know this to be true

It's just a mood

And I'm grateful I'm free

And I thank God up above

For the enlisted that keep me free

So now this is my story

Of how I get through

I just sit right down

And write just for you
