Cookouts, ball games

And swimming in a pool

Warm temperatures

And fans to cool

 

But I know three friends

Who enjoy the day

The penguins sat on an iceberg

And float away

 

Now they are out

In the deep blue sea

Waiting for rescue

As you can see

 

But they too

Join me when I say

We hope you have

A wonderful Memorial Day

To all I say

Have a happy

Memorial Day

 

But as you celebrate

And shout out loud

Remember our enlisted

When you're in a crowd

 

You may picnic

They may fight

You may enjoy

Into the night

 

They sleep on ground

And sometimes a cot

But you should be thankful

For all that you've got

 

So enjoy your long weekend

And Happy Memorial Day

But remember our enlisted

They deserve it in every way
