As The Man Sang

I was always thinking
How Much I missed you.
I tried to push away the
thoughts
But so little I could do.

Decided to go out awhile
Just to clear my mind.
Wandered Into a Country bar
Not prepared for what I'd
find.

The crowds pushed all around
me.
I could barely think.
It's better now, I thought to
myself
And I ordered up a drink.

I tired to push those
thoughts of you
To a place where I'd miss you
less,
Then on the stage walked a
man
In brilliant white he was
dressed.

The crowds began to go wild
As He climbed upon the stage.
And as The Man Began to Sing
My heart began to rage.

Tears began to fill My Eyes
As He brought You back to me.
A soldier In a far off land
Fighting to Keep Us free.

How did He know I miss You
Of Our life He began to sing.
The Man in white that night
brought you
Once More Back Home to Me.

God Bless the U.S.A.
Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.
I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men
who died who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:
I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
And I say God Bless You,

Lee Greenwood!
