With a tear in my eye

As his story I read

I suddenly felt what

Every enlisted family must dread

 God gave me a gift

And that was to write

It just happens spontaneously

And I sure do not fight

I'm so proud

Of every enlisted dear soul

They fight for my freedom

Make me feel whole

I can't thank you enough

You Mom and you Dad

That your child chose to protect

This makes me glad

So fear not proud parents

Brothers and sis

God watches all

And O'er none does He miss
