   I encountered J&S Resin Racing Parts at the MTMA Model Show in Cookeville TN last month. They were very helpful in helping me find the parts I needed for my project (the very products reviewed here). Not only were they knowledgeable about their products, but also the 1:1 subject matter they were intended to reproduce.

      As I write this their website is functional but still under construction. If you have questions about their products you can contact them at j.sresin@yahoo.com and I'm sure you will get the same excellent service they gave me.

     Whether you are building a Dirt Tack racing car, a jalopy, or a street rod, give these guys a look. You won't be disappointed.

Resin Review

   First up from J&S Resin Racing Parts is their 10" inch wide Firestone Deluxe Champion Dirt track racing tire. As you can see they have a very realistic cross cut tread pattern. This type of tire has been hard to find up until now, believe me I've looked.

     To say that this is as good as a kit tire would be an insult to this casting. The master was turned on a lathe to ensure true roundness and laser straight tread grooves. Right out of the gate J&S seems to have perfected their craft. Their are many advantages to using resin tires over the typical vinyl kit tires, such as being able to use enamel paints for weathering, and not having to worry about "tire burn" melting your wheels in years to come. This tire not only works well for early dirt track racers and jalopies, but would look great on a nostalgia rod, track roadster or rat rod. I know of several modelers who will be ordering these in bulk.

   Next from J&S is their Ford Flat head intakes and Stromberg carbs. Pictured here are;

JSR R3 (tan resin intake)

JSR 03  (white resin intake)

JSR S82 (Stromberg Carbs)

  The Castings are sharp and mostly free of flash. There is some clean-up around the base of the Carburators, but a little sanding will take care of it. I picked these up to use on a track Roadster model but they would work on any hi-performance flat head  application. These come highly recommended. I hope to review more of their products in the near future. I predict great things from this new aftermarket firm.
