The EBFRD is a group of committed, hardworking, highly motivated and trained professionals. The purpose of the EBFRD is to respond for fire suppression, rescue, and hazardous materials emergencies, and to provide fire prevention and education programs for the citizens of our community.
The EBFRD is an all volunteer, non-paid, non-profit, and non- tax supported. No member of the Fire Department receives any compensation for services rendered except the satisfaction of lending a helping hand when needed. Our area of service includes the northern part of Laurel County and the East Bernstadt area.
Our main sources of income are DONATIONS from the residents of our community and occasional grants. Every year we ask the residents of the community to help by making a tax deductible contribution of at least $10.00 per residential households and $25.00 for businesses. This translates into less than 3 cents a day for residential households and less than 9 cents per day for businesses. These donations help provide the best fire protection in Laurel County. We give thanks to all those in the community that have contributed to our volunteer fire and Rescue department.
