Welcome to the Cadet Program! |
The Sheriff’s Office of Dorchester County takes an active role with tomorrow’s future. Started in 2001 by Deputy L. Mandrell, the cadet program of Dorchester County helps to promote the continuing education of children from the ages of 15 to 20 years old a sense of honorable service to themselves, as well as, establishing a communications link between the Sheriff’s Office and the leaders of tomorrow. Bringing a multiple amount of self-experiences and fresh ideas to the program, Cadets work hand-in-hand with full-time officers to learn not only police procedures but useful skills such as Ethics, Public Speaking, Courtroom Procedures, First Aid and many more. When these same cadets mature with the self-knowledge and self-respect that is taught to them in this program, they learn not only the simple acknowledgement that crime does not pay, but useful skills that can benefit them in today’s world no matter what career field they choose. We hope to make a difference in today’s world with starting with tomorrow’s future. |
