Trena runs into an angry Giant while on a trek to seek fame and glory.

Trena Erikson

Treanna Erikson was a young maiden of thirteen who lived in the small village of Egersund on the southern tip of Norway in the year 861. She was a very unhappy young lady because of her miserable existence. Her family expected Treanna to learn the duties befitting a female. But cooking, cleaning, going to the market, and stretching hides for clothing or blankets was not the kind of life Treanna wanted. Her passionate dream was to live the life of a brave warrior. She was strong, agile, athletic, and fearless. Talents which were wasted as far as she was concerned, doing the mundane jobs of a Viking female. To her point of view, females were more or less slaves to the males in the village. They did all of the back breaking work while the men achieved fame and glory through their epic battles and bravery. Every day she cursed the fact that she was born a female instead of a male.

Treanna tried to explain to her family how she felt, but they refused to listen. The village runs smoothly if everyone does their job. Her father would say. The farmers grow the crops, the hunters bring in the meat, the warriors protect the village, and the women take care of their men. It is your responsibility to learn the duties of a female so you will make some man a good wife one day. So forget this ridiculous idea you have of becoming a warrior and do what's expected of you. Treanna obeyed her fathers wishes. But she never gave up hope of realising her dream. A few weeks later, Treanna was sent to the market to buy some vegetables for the evening meal. While she was looking over the corn and squash, she heard a man in the market square telling stories. She approached the gathering of people surrounding him to listen.

He was telling an amusing tale about fairy's, ogres, and a kindly King. She over heard two women talking and found out the story teller was from a far off land called Greece. When he finished the interesting story, Treanna smiled and began to wander off. Then she stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the next words that came out of the mans mouth. "The story I'm going to tell you now is a true recollection of an adventure involving the beautiful and extraordinary Xena the warrior Princess." Treanna turned around and quickly made her way to the front of the group. She didn't want to miss a single word of this story. For over an hour, Treanna gave the man her full attention while he told the exciting tale. When he finally finished, she bombarded him with numerous questions.

"What is Xena like? Have you ever met her? Where do you think she might be now? What type of clothing does she wear? Are all the tales about her exceptional fighting skills and unmatched bravery true?" The man barely had a chance to answer one question before she asked another. When Treanna couldn't think of anymore to ask, the story teller excused himself and entered the inn. Treanna started on her trek home with her mind full of exciting thoughts. No matter what she had to do or how long it took, Treanna was now more then ever determined to become a warrior. Nothing was going to stand in her way. Not her family, not her duties as a female, and certainly not a man. Who would want to be tied down to a husband when there was exciting adventures out there somewhere just waiting for her.

A few days later she was tanning an elk hide in front of the hut. When she stopped for a minute to rest, she saw an old warrior teaching a group of young men how to fight out in a field. One of the young men in the group was a fifteen year old boy named Galen. An idea came to her that made Treanna smile. She and Galen were neighbors who grew up together. He was sweet on her and she knew it. Treanna had always ignored his attention because she had no desire to become a wife to any man. She knew without a doubt the old warrior would never allow her to join the group so she could learn how to fight. But if she played her cards right, she could use her feminine wiles to force Galen into teaching her what he learned. It would be worth the price of a few innocent kisses and a little fondling to gain her objective.

She cornered Galen that night and coerced him into helping her. It wasn't very hard to convince him, considering he would finally get to kiss the girl he loved and hold her in his arms. He whittled a sword out of a block of wood for her the next day and began training Treanna in private. She was thoroughly elated he agreed to her request. Treanna was a quick study, so it was easy for her to learn the sword fighting techniques and hand to hand combat. For the next five years she learned from Galen and saved her money. When she had enough saved up, she paid the black smith to forge a special sword for her. It was lighter and slightly smaller then a males sword, yet sturdy and dependable. Now that she had a real sword to practice with, she remained for two more years while she learned how to properly wield it. By the time she was twenty, Treanna could handle the sword with ease. She was also an exceptional fighter and extremely gifted in wrestling. Galen hadn't beaten her in a fight or a wrestling match in over a year. And he was two years older and sixty pounds heavier.

Now that Treanna felt she was ready, she began preparing for her journey. After learning how Xena dressed from the Greek story teller, she followed the example of her adored Heroine. She cut two thirds of the material off of her favorite grey skirt and hemmed the edge. When she slipped it on her well developed hips, it hung just below her shapely ass. She was satisfied it would give her complete mobility in any kind of fight. Next, she put on the grey short sleeved blouse that was light and comfortable. Then she slid her feet into the calf length black leather boots she made. The final part of her attire was a black leather breast and back plate she fashioned as armour. It was essentially two pieces of tough leather connected together with shoulder straps. It slipped over her head and tied at the sides with raw hide strips. When she was finished dressing, Treanna was the spitting image of Xena the warrior Princess.

She saddled the three year old mare named Jaxx that she had raised since birth. Then she said good bye to her family, ignoring their pleas to reconsider her decision and stay home. When she left the family hut, she noticed Galen was holding Jaxx while waiting for her. "Please remain here and be my wife Treanna. I'll be a good husband to you. You know I love you with all my heart." He pleaded. "I'm sorry Galen. I care for you very much. But this is my dream and I must follow it. Being a warrior yourself, I was hoping you would understand why I have to do this. It's my destiny." She explained. Galen nodded his head and handed her the chain mail he had slung over his shoulder. "I knew I would never change your mind. So please take this chain mail as a farewell present. It will help keep you safe in battle." He said with a charming smile.

Treanna took the chain mail and stuffed it in her saddle bag. "Thank you for everything Galen. Not just for this chain mail, but for helping me attain my dream. I couldn't have done it without you. You're a very special person." Treanna gave him one last kiss that left the young man weak in his knees. Then she climbed aboard Jaxx and smiled at him as she waved and rode off. When Treanna reached the edge of the village, she took one last look at the only home she had ever known. Then she turned the black mare and slowly rode off seeking her fame and glory. As Jaxx hit a comfortable stride, Treanna began thinking about her quest. If fables were going to be told about her exciting adventures, she would need a name like Xena that was befitting a warrior. Treanna wasn't a name that villains would fear. She needed to come up with something that sounded brave and tough.

After giving it some careful thought, she decided to shorten her name to Trena. It sounded good rolling off of her tongue and she felt it was a fearless sounding name that would demand respect. "That's what I'll call myself." She said talking to Jaxx. "It has a certain ring to it. Trena the Viking Warrior. That should strike fear in the heart of any ruthless villain. What do you think Jaxx?" She asked the horse. Jaxx whinnied her approval and trotted faster. "I'm glad you agree with me my friend. We make a good team. Now that we have that settled, let's go find ourselves an exciting adventure. We have to give the scribes something to write about and the story tellers a tale to delight the hearts of children as they tell it. So onward my friend. Trena the Viking Warrior is on the prowl."

A few days later, Trena was nearing the village of Fossvang in central Norway. Suddenly, a horde of people were fleeing from the village and storming up the path towards her. They were scared to death of something and screaming their heads off. Trena was able to stop one woman and find out why they were so frightened. "It's Ragmar the giant. He's tearing up our village and eating our livestock. We're going to hide where we can until he fills his enormous stomach and leaves. I wouldn't go in there if I were you young lady. It isn't safe. Ragmar is huge and he's angry." She said as she hurried down the path to catch up with the others. "This is the adventure we have been seeking Jaxx. The Gods are shinning on us this day. Fame and glory are just ahead my friend. Let's go make history." She told the horse as she confidently galloped towards the village.

When she entered the village, she saw several huts collapsed to ruin and oxen carts torn to pieces. There wasn't a single soul left in the village. They all had fled to safety from the angry giant. Trena thought back to the things she heard about Ragmar. Some say he was cast out by Zeus and the others Gods for his unruly behavior. While others said he climbed out of the depths of the underworld one day and emerged from a cave to cause havoc across the country side. He was reputed to be twelve feet tall and roughly six hundred pounds. He destroyed everything in his path and was always in a foul mood. Although Trena only stood five foot seven and weighed one hundred and thirty three pounds she wasn't afraid. Facing impossible odds and emerging victorious was the kind of feat that made warriors a legend.

"We have our work cut out for us Jaxx. Taking Ragmar down will not be easy. But this is the kind of battle that scribes and story tellers love to pass on. So onward my good friend. Today, Trena the Viking Warrior will become a legend." She found Ragmar sitting in a field behind one of the collapsed huts. He was eating the bloody back haunch of a slaughtered cow. She tied Jaxx to what was left of the destroyed fence that kept the livestock pinned in. Then she drew her sword and confidently approached the huge giant. "HEY! Why don't you pick on someone your own size you big ox?" She asked. "There is no one my size wench." He replied laughing. "There's no one as ugly as you either fat boy." Trena answered with a grin. Ragmar threw down the bloody haunch and leaped to his feet. "BEGONE WITH YOU WENCH! OR I'LL SQUASH YOU LIKE A BUG UNDER MY HEEL!" He bellowed. "Be careful with your threats pea brain. This bug bites back." She said as she held out her sword. Ragmar laughed at the stupid female.

"That tiny sword you have won't help you. It would be nothing more then a thorn prick against my tough hide. Now get lost wench so I can eat in peace. Or I'll rip your foolish head from your shoulders." He threatened. Trena realised he was probably telling the truth. She put the sword back in it's sheath and tossed it aside after removing it from her shoulder. Then she went back to where Jaxx was tied up and found a ten foot pole that used to be part of the fence. Armed with an acceptable weapon, she returned to face the angry giant. "Your time of terrorizing innocent people is over Ragmar the ugly. Trena the Viking Warrior is going to end your miserable life this day. Pray to what ever Gods still listen to you. Because you're about to enter Hades." She told him as she proudly stood there.

Ragmar growled and raised his oak tree size leg to stomp her into the ground with his large foot. Trena side stepped his slow attempt and whacked him on the shin with the pole. "WHACK!" It stung the mighty giant and made him more angry. "NOW YOU DIE BITCH!" He loudly bellowed as he reached for her. Trena dodged his huge hand and planted the end of the pole in the ground. Then she used it to pole vault herself upward with her strong legs extended out. When she reached the top, she kicked out with her booted feet towards his surprised face. "WHAP!..WHAP!" One caught him on the fore head and the other landed on his left cheek. She used the momentum from the potent kicks to spring backwards and landed gracefully on her feet. Ragmar was really growling now. "I'M GOING TO RIP YOUR LIMBS OFF YOU DAUGHTER OF A WHORE!" Trena gave him a beautiful smile.

Ragmar charged at her and continuously tried to smash her feminine body under his heel. Trena easily dodged his clumsy attempts and repeatedly cracked him with the pole on his shins, thighs, and the foot planted on the ground. "WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!" When he finally ceased his attack, there was red marks all over both of his legs and he was slightly limping on his sore left foot. While he stood there rubbing the sore spots on his legs, Trena began poking him with the end of the pole. His stomach, ribs, and ass was taking a beating because the agile female warrior was simply to quick for the lumbering giant. By the time he turned to grab her after being poked, Trena had escaped and was now poking another part of his large body. Ragmar was getting thoroughly frustrated because he couldn't catch up to her.

"STAND STILL YOU FILTHY OFFSPRING OF A COW!" He screamed as he grabbed for her and missed again. "I will in a little while you big dumb ox. Just as soon as I chop you down to my size so I can reach your ugly face with my fists. Then I'm going to beat you senseless and cut off your ugly head while you're lying helpless at my feet." "WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!" Both shins and his sore foot was throbbing with pain. When he reached to rub the sore spot on his shin, Trena cracked him on the knuckles with the wooden pole. "WHACK!..WHACK!" He instinctively raised his fingers to his mouth to suck out the pain like a baby would do. Which left his large body completely unprotected. "JAB!..JAB!..JAB!..JAB!..JAB!..JAB!" His stomach, his back, and the ribs on both sides of his enormous body felt the pain of her accurate jabs.

While Ragmar stood there grimacing from the numerous sore splotches covering his huge frame, Trena changed tactics. She planted the end of the pole firmly on the ground and pole vaulted upwards again. But this time she used it to sling shot her body around in a circle. Both feet slammed into his wide open chin with amazing force. "WHAP!..WHAP!" The last kick was hard enough to propel her around for another attack. This time her feet clubbed him on both eyes. "WHAP!..WHAP!" She slowly rode the pole on around and softly landed on her feet. When Trena looked up at the whimpering giant, she couldn't stop herself from laughing. His entire body was covered with red welts. Ragmar looked like he had been attacked by a swarm of mosquito's.

When Ragmar heard Trena laughing at him it was more then his gigantic male ego could take. With renewed determination, he increased his efforts to get his hands on the pestering little bitch. But Trena was full of surprises that he wasn't prepared for. As he started to lean over to try and grab her, she leaped in the air and did a forward monkey flip. The soles of her booted feet slammed into his unsuspecting face and crushed his nose and mouth. "WHAP!..WHAP!" The force of the blows, combined with his ailing body and gimpy foot, drove him back a few steps. He finally regained his footing and noticed blood dripping from his broken nose and busted lips. "Ah, I see I have drawn first blood. It won't be long before you are on your knees and in range of my fists. Then we'll see which one of us is the toughest." She told the ailing giant.

Ragmar had had enough. He was to slow to get his hands on the agitating bitch and his entire body was stinging from the painful red welts. It was time to escape this female demon and nurse himself back to health. He turned and began loping towards the dense forest. "Oh no you don't fat boy. I'm not through with you yet." Trena said as she took off after him with her black hair flowing in the wind and her beautiful blue eyes shinning. Because of his pain filled body and his sore foot, Ragmars long strides were slow and cumbersome. Trena was easily able to catch up with him before he gained more then twenty feet. "You can't escape your fate you dumb ox. It's your destiny to die here today. And it's my destiny to put an end to your reign of terror. So stand and fight you over grown coward." Trena said as she repeatedly beat on him with the pole. "WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!"

Ragmars thick legs got tangled up trying to avoid the stinging wooden pole. When Trena saw him stumbling, she put all the effort she could generate into her next swing. "WHHHACK!" The blow landed on his shin with so much force the pole splintered to pieces and broke in two. It also caused so much pain to the lumbering giants leg he lost his footing and plowed into the earth on his face. Trena leaped on the downed giant with the four foot piece of wooden pole that was left and began beating on his back, head, and splayed out arms. "WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!..WHACK!" Ragmar finally got himself under control and rolled to his back. His attempt to surprise his tormentor and get his hands on her was in vain. Trena was expecting him to try that trick and was ready for it.

When he started his roll, she gathered herself and leaped high in the air. "WHACK!..WHACK!..STOMP!" She cracked him on the knuckles of both hands before dropping back down to forcibly land on his exposed stomach as hard as she could. "UUGGGHHHHHHHHHH!" The hard landing forced the air out of his lungs and caused his head to jerk up. "WHACK!..WHACK!" Trena smacked him on both sides of the head near his eyes. The excruciating pain made him wince and close his eyes against the pain. Trena let out a blood curdling yell similar to the one Xena uses and executed another front flip. This time she came down on his unprotected face. "WHAM!..WHAM!" Her booted feet smashed into his large cheeks and made them slightly swell. Before stepping off of the bewildered giant, she kicked him in the broken nose and stomped on his fore head. WHAP!..STOMP!" Ragmar whimpered and placed his enormous hands over his swollen, bloody face.

Trena threw down what was left of the pole and turned to face the huge giant with her hands perched on her shapely hips. "Get up on your knees and fight me you coward. There is no escape." She challenged. Ragmar growled like an enraged lunatic and rolled over to get on his knees. "I'M GOING TO RIP YOU TO PIECES AND SPREAD YOUR PARTS ALL OVER THIS CONTINENT YOU FILTHY WHORE!" He loudly boasted. "Ah, the coward has finally found his courage. Now be a good boy and put up your fists. I'm going to beat you until there's nothing left of your ugly face but squishy pulp." She informed him as she raised her hands and doubled them up into fists. "AARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ragmar screamed with hatred as he swung his mighty fist to crush the puny female that was irritating him. Trena smiled and readied herself for the battle to the death.

"WHOOOOOOOOSH!" His huge arm stirred the air with a loud sound as it passed over the head of the ducking female. "SMACK!..SMACK!" Trena's fast moving fists struck him over both eyes before he could attempt another swing. "WHOOOOOOOOOSH!" She eluded that one as well and popped him in the face with a barrage of stinging punches. "SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!" Two of her accurate blows landed on each side of his large mouth. The third ripped up his lower lip a bit more before the fourth found his wide open chin. Ragmar screamed in frustration and reached out to grab her in his strong hands. "AARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Trena avoided his grasping hands by leaping straight up in the air and kicking out with both booted feet to his vulnerable face. "WHAP!..WHAP!" The heels of her boots slammed into both of his eyes.

Ragmar was temporarily blinded by the hard kicks and therefore wide open for her next attack. Trena took advantage of his helpless state to pound him in the stomach. "THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!" When Ragmar lowered his huge hands to protect his mid section, Trena blasted his chin with a solid uppercut that sounded like dynamite going off. "CRRRACK!" Blood flew from his busted up mouth when the devastating punch snapped his head back. While he was distracted, Trena leaped in and began thumping his left ribs with jack hammer punches. "THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!" When Ragmar reached down to drive her off, she somersaulted over his sweeping hand and landed right in front of him. With his stomach unprotected, she beat on it again. "THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!"

This time she rolled under his slapping hand and came up next to his right ribs. Seizing the golden opportunity presented to her, she rat tat tatted his ribs like a machine gun with a multitude of battering ram shots. "THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!" She heard Ragmar groan and watched as he slightly leaned to his right to try and ease the pain. Trena slipped a little behind him and battered his kidney. "THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!" When he reached around to cover his ailing kidney, she leaped over his huge arm and brutally kicked his bicep like a dozen striking cobras. "WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!" She slipped away after causing his muscle a great deal of pain. "I'm chopping you down like an oak tree you big ox. And there's nothing you can do to stop my axe like fists and kicks. You'll soon be lying at my feet begging for your miserable life. That's when I'll end your pitiful existence in this world."

Ragmar growled and tried to club her with his ham like fist. But the extent of damage caused by her hard female fists had nearly rendered it useless. His mighty effort was pitifully slow and painful. Trena easily dodged his clumsy swing and leaped up on his fore arm to use it as a spring board. Gathering her strong legs beneath her, she sprang up and grabbed two hand fulls of his scraggly hair. While she hung there, she repeatedly kicked him in the face with all the power she could generate through her firmly muscled legs. "WHAP!..WHAP!..WHAP!..WHAP!..WHAP!..WHAP!" Blood flew in every direction while she battered his face until it swelled up like a balloon. "WHHHAP!" She slammed her foot against the bridge of his nose with a final kick and used the momentum to back flip away from him to gracefully land on her feet.

Trickles of blood were streaming down Ragmar's severely battered face in several places. Both eyes were swollen and turning black from his badly broken nose. His top and bottom lip were enormously puffed up from the terrible beating he had received. And both cheeks were swollen out of proportion, while numerous cuts and bruises covered his over sized chin. Combined with the condition of his extremely sore body, Ragmar was a complete mess. While he knelt there shaking his groggy head, Trena grabbed his tunic and swung her gorgeous legs up towards his left bicep to render it useless. "WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!" Just as Ragmar reached for her, she released his tunic and back flipped to the ground. Deciding not to waste the opening, she drilled his massive stomach before slipping away. "THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!..THUD!"

Excruciating pain covered the mighty giants face and body. And his bewildered mind was thoroughly confused over the unbelievable event that was occurring. For countless years he had been the predator who preyed on his helpless victims as they ran screaming for their lives in absolute fear. That fear he had installed in them because of his massive size and angry demeanor, was now filling his enormous body from head to toe. Being frightened to death of a mere human female was a nightmare he never dreamed he would ever have to face. But the reality of his dire situation was beginning to sink in. His huge male frame dwarfed the females lithe body by a wide margin. Yet he was the one who was scared out of his mind of the fierce fighting female warrior who was completely breaking him down. Fear was an emotion he had never felt. It left a disgusting taste in his mouth he didn't savor.

"You look worried you pathetic sissy. Is it finally dawning on you that you're very close to taking your last breath in this world. I can understand how you feel. Because of the despicable life you've led, I'm certain the Gods will not show pity and allow you to descend to the beautiful paradise of Valhalla. Your worthless hide is doomed to spend eternity in the fiery depths of Hades. But you won't be lonely. Many of your comrades are already there waiting for you to join them." She told him with a confident smile. Her little condescending speech helped Ragmar find the courage to carry on and try to change his destiny. Roaring at the top of his lungs, he began pounding the ground with both of his huge fists in an attempt to squash the pesky female and end her life. But Trena's agile feminine body was simply to quick for his futile efforts. She easily avoided his death blows by preforming countless flips, somersaults, and hand springs until she worked her way in close. Then she struck with extreme accuracy and power.

"WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!" Her hard kicking feet sunk deep into his destroyed stomach and turned it into gruel. Then her solid hitting fists ripped into his huge biceps until his mighty arms hung useless at his sides. By the time Trena was finished with her devastating attack, the enormous giant was kneeling in front of her whimpering like a baby. His boulder size head was drooped down on his barrel like chest, while tears the size of buckets poured from his swollen black and blue eyes. Ragmar was defeated and they both knew it. Trena casually gripped his tunic with both hands and pulled his battered face down to look into his tear filled, sad eyes. "Say your final prayer weakling. You are about to meet Hela, the Goddess of the underworld." Ragmar tried to move his pain wracked arms and sweep her away from him. But they wouldn't budge. The volume of tears he was shedding increased significantly. It was like two Dams had been raised to release the water trapped behind them. Trena smiled and drew back her right fist while holding him steady with her left hand.

"SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..CRRRACK!" She beat his face to a bloody pulp and finished him off with an uppercut that had the power of a kicking stallion behind it. Ragmar slumped to the ground like a mountain crumbling. He lie at her feet completely unconscious with a disfigured face. Trena smiled and strolled over to pick up her sword. After slipping it from the sheath, she placed her left foot on his head for leverage and swung the sharp edged blade down on the back of his neck. She had to change sides several times like she was chopping down a mighty oak. But eventually his large head rolled away from his broad shoulders. She grasped the bloody lump by the hair and climbed aboard Jaxx. Then she road out the way she came in, searching for the villagers who had fled.

"You can come out of hiding and return to your homes. Ragmar the giant will never bother you again." She said to the forest while holding up his bloody head for them to see. The villagers cautiously stepped from their hiding place and slowly approached her. When they saw she was telling the truth, they began to celebrate. Laughing and crying with joy, they crowded around Trena and congratulated her for an amazing victory. Then they pleaded with her to be their guest at the great feast they planned on giving in her honor. After she accepted, they all hurried home with happy hearts to prepare the food. During the celebration, they proclaimed Trena to be the greatest warrior in the land. She politely smiled and accepted their gratitude. Her life long dream had finally came true. On that day in the year 868, the legend of Trena the Viking Warrior was born.
