Diana and the Amazons battle a race of Giants.

Diana Prince

The Gods of Olympus were having a strong debate over what they should do about the destructive monsters escaping from Tartarus through the doorway of doom. They were terrorizing the countryside and killing many of the people who worshiped them. It was finally decided that Ares the God of war, would create an army of warriors to guard the doorway and stop anymore monsters from escaping. So Ares did what they asked and the Gods thought the matter was settled. But warriors are fighting men, not mere guardians to a doorway. So they periodically left the Island to ravage the villages and rape their women. The Gods realised the warriors were doing just as much damage as the monsters. So they destroyed the warriors and began another debate. During the second debate, five Goddesses led by Artemis, came up with a plan to create an army of women to guard the doorway. They presented it to the Gods and the plan was approved.

So the Goddesses moulded an army of women out of clay and called them Amazons. These Amazon warriors were reincarnated souls of women slain throughout history by men. They appointed two of these women who were sisters as co Queens of the Amazons and gave each one a Girdle of Gaea. The girdles were made from the original girdle belonging to Gaea, the Goddess of earth. The girdles gave the wearer amazing abilities. Enhanced strength, great beauty, great wisdom, acute senses and invulnerability. The Goddesses placed the Amazons on the Island of Paradise and gave them instructions to guard the doorway of doom. They did exactly what they were told which greatly pleased the Gods. The Amazons flourished on the Island and became a great nation of mighty female warriors. The two Queens Hippolyta and Antiope, were highly respected and loved by the Amazons. They ruled the Island like mothers watching over their daughters.

Ares was upset with the Gods for killing his male army and replacing them with women. Women were baby carriers and hut keepers, not warriors. But he was forbidden by Zeus to interfere with the Amazons. So Ares goaded his half brother Herakles into doing his bidding. Herakles was a Demi God and had very little respect for females. So it wasn't hard for Ares to convince his half brother to attack the Island of Paradise. Several Amazons were killed during the raid and Herakles made off with Hippolyta's Girdle of Gaea. Antiope was very upset over the raid because one of the Amazons who was killed was her daughter. She denounced the Gods and gathered a group of followers. After giving Hippolyta her Girdle of Gaea, she and her followers left the Island to search for another home.

Balor was King of the Titan Giants. They lived in the mountains in a land called Titania. He immediately heard about Herakles raid on the Amazons and his theft of the Girdle. Balor kept tabs on the Amazons because he was thoroughly obsessed with the Girdles of Gaea. He fantasized for years about owning one for himself. The incredible abilities they bestowed on the wearer would make him invincible and all powerful. But the Amazon women were formidable warriors. Attacking them would have been suicide. Until now. He knew the Amazons would be living in chaos after the raid. And their numbers were depleted with Antiope's departure. It was the perfect opportunity to strike the female warriors and steal the final girdle. So Balor and Argus the Captain of his army, began making plans to hit the Amazons while they were vulnerable. He was absolutely certain the plan would succeed.

Unknown to Balor, Hippolyta knew about his obsession with the girdles and was keeping tabs on him as well. When she got word the Giants were preparing for battle, she instinctively knew it was her Island they would be attacking. So she sent a courier to contact her daughter Diana and tell her to return to the Island. Diana had left the Island a few years ago and ventured out into the world. The world was at war with Germany at the time. The Nazis were killing millions of people. So Goddess Aphrodite decided it was time for an Amazon to leave the Island and help fight the Germans. A tournament was held to determine an Amazon Champion and Princess Diana won. She was given special items and sent to the real world as Wonder Woman. With fewer Amazons on the Island, Hippolyta knew she needed all the help she could get. Diana answered her summons and immediately returned.

Hippolyta appointed Diana leader of the Amazon warriors. Diana gathered her forces and left the Island to meet the Giants on neutral turf. Even though Hippolyta was Queen, she elected to go with the female warriors under Diana's command. Diana begged her mother to wear the Girdle of Gaea so she couldn't be harmed. During the heat of battle, you can easily be struck from behind while your focus is centered on the warrior you are fighting. But Hippolyta refused. She explained to her daughter that the girdle was a symbol of their devotion to the five Goddesses who created them. It was to remain on it's sacred alter and never to be worn. Diana eventually gave up trying to convince her mother to wear the girdle or remain behind. But she was still very concerned with her safety. Diana asked Pantariste, the Captain of her army, to help her keep an eye on Hippolyta in battle.

Although the Amazons were warriors and not sea faring sailors, they managed with Diana's help to reach their destination. They anchored the ship in a cove near Mount Olympus and went ashore to set up their trap. The first line of defense was made up of archers. Marpe, Asteria and Tecmessa were experts in archery. They could shoot two arrows with extreme accuracy in the same amount of time the others could shoot one. Their job was to lessen the number of Giants the Amazons would have to face during close combat. They set up along the tree line at the edge of the forest to surprise the Giants when they descended from the mountains. The remaining Amazons stood at the ready to charge the Giants after their number was decreased. Their primary weapons were swords, spears and labrys. Which is a two headed ax.

Diana split the army into two sections so they could flank the Giants from two different angles. She led the group on the right, while Pantariste led the group on the left. Phoebe, Eurybe and Celaneo were among the group led by Diana. Their fighting skills with a spear was legendary. The three of them were best of friends and always fought together. They stood back, to back, to back in a three point triangle and dispatched with the enemy while watching over each other. The unusual fighting technique worked very well for them. They survived many battles while fighting in this fashion. But Amazons didn't depend on weapons alone. Years of fine tuning their skills in hand to hand combat had created a nation of extremely strong and confident females. Their bravery in combat was unequaled by any army on the face of the earth.

The scouts returned with word the Giants were about one hours march away. Their army carried war clubs, spears and battle axes only. There was no archers among them. Diana wasn't surprised by the report. A Giants hands were to large to efficiently use a bow and arrow. They preferred swinging and stabbing weapons because of their enormous strength. Diana dispatched a courier to make sure Pantariste understood the battle plan. The archers were to launch a volley of arrows at the Giants to drop as many as possible. Then Diana would lead her group out of the trees and attack the Giants while the archers released another volley. With the Giants attention focused on Diana's screaming warriors, Pantariste was to charge out of the trees and attack their flank. The Amazons prayed to the Goddesses and readied themselves for battle. Victory would be theirs if all went well.

Balor and his army was strolling across the field in an unorganised cluster. The Giants were thoroughly relaxed and care free. They were heading to the port city of Leptokaria to confiscate the ships they would need to carry them to Paradise Island. Balor was completely unaware that Hippolyta knew of his plan. So an ambush by the female warriors was the last thing he expected. He quickly realised his mistake when the man walking next to him dropped to the ground with three arrows in his chest. Then he heard the screaming war cry of the Amazons as they charged across the field towards him. His army was in disarray from suddenly being attacked and failed to establish a formation of any kind against the mighty female warriors. Another volley of arrows felled several more Giants just as Diana and her group reached the scattering Giant army.

The sound of sword meeting war club and battle axe meeting labrys could be heard for miles. As soon as Diana's army engaged the Giants, Pantariste left her hiding place among the trees and swooped down on the male army like avenging angles. The Giant army was thrown in complete turmoil when they realised they had unexpectedly walked into a trap. Quite a few discarded their weapons and turned tail. They were cut down by a horde of arrows before they were able to reach cover. Balor was screaming at his men to stand and fight. But fear had quickly consumed the hearts of the mighty Giant army. Those who held on to their weapons were wildly swinging them in a futile attempt to retreat. But unfortunately the safety of the mountains was miles behind them. So they had no place to go.

Balor finally got the attention of his Giant army and settled them down. They gathered around their King and fought like a well disciplined unit. But by that time the battle field was littered with Giant bodies. The Amazon warriors smelled victory and increased their attack. Screams of agony filled the air as Giant after Giant fell by the wayside. The clanking of swords and the thudding sound of war club against labrys was deafening. Dying male screams was followed by the screeching sounds of the female warriors war cry. In a little more then an hour, only three Giants remained standing. King Balor, his army Captain Argus, and a huge Giant by the name of Titus. They were completely surrounded by the Amazon warriors. Diana demanded they surrender immediately. But Balor refused. The Amazons respected true bravery in a warrior. Even an enemy one. It was their custom to allow a brave warrior the chance to die in battle or gain his freedom. Diana offered Balor that chance and he quickly accepted.

The Amazons arranged themselves in a large circle with the Giants standing in the middle. Three Amazon warriors were to be chosen to fight the remaining Giants in hand to hand combat. The fight was to the death. If the Giants succeeded in killing their female opponent, they were allowed to leave in peace. If they lost the battle, then they joined their dead comrades lying on the battle field. Diana chose herself and Pantariste as two of the warriors to challenge the remaining Giants. Before she had a chance to choose a third, Hippolyta exerted her right as Queen and stepped up to join the two females. Diana accepted her decision without protesting. Warriors wouldn't follow a Queen who wasn't ready to lay down her life for the Amazon nation. So it was her choice to make.

As Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta chose King Balor to be her opponent. Diana let Pantariste fight Argus because they were Captains of their respective army's. She being the strongest and most skillful Amazon of all, took on the larger Titus. The three females faced the male Giants in the circle of death with extreme confidence. Balor was roughly fifteen foot tall while Hippolyta was a mere 5 foot 9. Argus was also around fifteen foot tall with Pantariste being 5 foot 8. Diana had the biggest challenge among the three. Her 5 foot 8 frame was up against an eighteen foot tall Giant with arms and legs as big as oak trees. However he did have a weakness. Titus could have been more then a simple soldier in the army except for the fact that he wasn't very intelligent. He had the mind of a ten year old child. But he was a fierce fighting warrior. So Diana's task was definitely not going to be easy. At the sound of the horn the combat began.

Balor quickly swooped down to grab Hippolyta and squeeze her to death in his strong hands. But Amazon warriors are amazingly quick and agile. She avoided his death grip by leaping straight up in the air and snapping a kick to his jaw. "WHAP!" The powerful kick surprised Balor and sent him staggering. Hippolyta took advantage of him being off balance and attacked with fury. Her strong legs landed kick after kick on his massive legs in an attempt to severely weaken them. "WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!" His shins, thighs and knees took an awful beating before he could escape her punishing feet. He was still standing, but awkwardly hobbling in pain. Balor was King because of his great courage and valor. So even though he was hurt, he was still a very dangerous adversary.

With his legs damaged and hurting, Balor stood his ground and waited for Hippolyta to come to him. She was more then happy to oblige. She advanced on the huge Giant with a smile on her face. This time Balor cut loose with a mighty swing. Hippolyta somersaulted over his large fist at the last second and gracefully landed on her feet in front of him. She leaped up on his lower thigh and used it as a spring board to deliver a series of devastating kicks to his whole body. "WHAM!..WHOP!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAP!" The first one hit his lower thigh and the second one crushed his groin. She used those to climb her way up his huge body while kicking like a mule. The third and forth slammed into his stomach and chest respectively. The last was a brutal blow to his face that broke his nose and knocked him backwards like a stumbling drunk.

Hippolyta lightly landed on her feet and charged her opponent while he was struggling to stay upright. She ran in a half moon pattern to build up momentum and circled to his left side. When she reached the point that would give her maximum impact, she leaped in the air and savagely drove her foot through the side of his knee. "WHAM!..SNAP!" The sound of his leg breaking was clearly heard by the Amazon warriors. Their blood curdling war cry filled the air as they watched Balor collapse to the ground while screaming in excruciating pain. "AAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Hippolyta quickly leaped on his back and wrapped her strong legs around his neck from behind. After crossing her ankles, she tightened her legs and leaned back towards the ground. The athletic maneuver forced Balor's upper body to bend backwards and put pressure on his broken leg.

"AAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Another painful scream escaped his throat while he pawed at her strong legs to free himself. But Hippolyta wouldn't be denied. When her hands touched the ground, she violently twisted her magnificently strong legs and broke his neck. "SNNNAP!" Balor's lifeless arms fell to his sides and stayed there. Hippolyta released her vanquished victim and vaulted over on her feet. Balor slowly toppled forward and landed on his face. His dead body didn't move. The circle of Amazon warriors screamed their victory cry while their Queen planted her foot on the side of Balor's head and proudly raised her arms. She finally strolled over and joined the circle of screaming female warriors to watch her daughter and Pantariste battle their foes.

Pantariste and Argus were grizzled veterans of many battles. Each had fought and killed their share of enemy soldiers. Argus raised his huge right leg and attempted to stomp his hated female enemy into the ground. Pantariste executed a perfect cartwheel to her right and made him miss. Argus tried to grind her into dust with his left foot this time. Another acrobatic cartwheel to her left avoided his stomping foot. When he raised his right leg again, she did a forward hand spring and followed that with a leaping double flip. When she gracefully landed on her feet, she was standing directly beneath him. Using her powerful legs, she leaped in the air and landed two solid punches to his wide open balls. "THUNK!..THUNK!" Argus moaned and clutched his aching testicles. Pantariste streaked around to his side and jumped up to drive her booted feet into his exposed ribs. "WHAM!..WHAM!"

"AARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Argus squealed in pain and released his balls with his left hand to reach down and grab her. Pantariste quickly sprinted around his left leg and sprang into the air. This time she used her strong legs to land two powerful kicks to his right hand which was still covering his aching balls. "WHAM!..WHAM!..SNAP!" Both landed on his little finger and broke it. "AARRGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Another scream rang out over the battle field. While Argus was nursing his broken finger, she leaped up and delivered two more hard punches to his balls. "THUNK!..THUNK!" Tears slid down his reddened cheeks from the awful pain. While he was distracted, she slipped back around to his left side and drove her feet into his ribs again. "WHAM!..WHAM!..SNAP!" A audible snap could be heard when his rib broke. "AAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" He loudly screamed in pain again. Argus leaned to his left to try and ease the pain. Pantariste ran behind him and leaped up to grab his tunic with both hands.

Argus couldn't reach her with his left hand and his right was in to much pain to try. She planted her feet against his large butt and pushed out with her strong legs to get a swinging motion. Her legs shot backwards before she used her grip on his tunic to slingshot her lower body forward again. She generated enough power to crush his nut sacs when her booted feet connected with his aching balls. "WHOP!..WHOP!" "AAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Argus screamed and dropped to his knees. Pantariste clutched his tunic near his left shoulder and used her grip to propel her athletic body in a circle when she leaped in the air. Her momentum was stopped when her lower calves met his neck. "WHAM!..WHAM!..SNNNAP!" His broken neck flopped to the side and Argus's dead body slumped over on his face. Hundreds of Amazon victory cries rang out across the valley. Pantariste retrieved her labrys and chopped off his head. She proudly held it up while her sisters in battle cheered her victory. She dropped his head next to his lifeless body and joined the death circle to watch Diana deal with Titus.

Titus doubled up his fist and threw it in a chopping motion to drive Diana into the ground. But she was the strongest and most athletic of all the female Amazon warriors. She leaped in the air and executed a perfect forward flip. Her feet landed on his forearm which she used to spring load her next forward flip. She snapped her legs out when she came around and drove her booted feet into his face. "WHAP!..WHAP!" One foot broke his nose and the other one went right into his eye. It watered up and temporarily blinded him on that side. Diana took advantage and attacked while he was having trouble finding her. She circled to her left and leaped up to drill him in the ribs with two hard shots. "THUD!..THUD!" When he reached down to grope for her, she ran around and repeated the maneuver on his lower back. "THUD!..THUD!" She heard him grunt.

Titus turned his large body to snatch her up in his large hands. But the female Heroine was way to quick for his lumbering body. She quickly sprinted between his legs and was standing behind him again by the time he made it around. His back felt the pain of two more pile driving punches. "THUD!..THUD!" This time his grunt turned into a painful moan. Once again he tried to turn and grab her before she could get away. But the swift Amazon warrior was long gone before he made it around. She was standing at his side again so she let him have two more to the ribs. "THUD!..THUD!" By this time, Titus was completely confused as to where she would strike next. He didn't have long to wait. Diana darted between his legs again and leaped up on his lower thigh to use it as a spring board. She pushed off as hard as she could and found herself staring him right in the face. Her hard fists went to work. "SMACK!..SMACK!..CRACK!" Her right poked him in the other eye and her left knocked out a tooth. The jaw breaking uppercut snapped his head back and sent him reeling.

When Titus gained his footing he couldn't see a thing. He was rapidly blinking both eyes to try and bring them into focus. Diana didn't give him any respite. She relentlessly attacked while he blindly stood there like a statue. "WHAM!..WHAM!" His left leg felt her punishing kicks and nearly buckled. While he struggled to get it under control, his right leg felt severe pain. "WHAM!..WHAM!" It crumbled beneath him and forced his upper body to bend over. Diana savagely let him have it. Her sledge hammer fists ripped his face apart. "SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..CRACK!..CRACK!" She swelled up both eyes and busted his mouth open. Then a double fisted uppercut slammed into his chin like two battering rams. Titus fell over backwards like a freshly cut redwood tree. "SLAM!" The ground shook like an earthquake when his huge body landed.

Diana was on him like a jungle cat restraining her downed prey. A forward flip sunk her feet deep into his stomach. "WHAM!..WHAM!" Then two solid kicks speared into his face when his head snapped up from the ground. "WHAP!..WHAP!" Diana leaped off of his chest and drove her booted heels into the muscle of his enormous right arm. "WHAM!..WHAM!" When he groaned and rolled in that direction, his swelling face was met by another brutal kick. "WHAP!" Blood and teeth went flying while his head flopped back to the ground. Titus was slightly groggy after she kicked him in the face. Diana worked on his ribs while he lie there in a stupor. "WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..WHAM!..SNAP!..SNAP!" Two ribs cracked under the pressure of her brutal kicking feet. "AAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" Titus screamed and tried to roll away. But his broken ribs hampered his movements. Diana continued his destruction.

"WHAP!..WHAP!..CRACK!" One kick seriously damaged his ear drum while the other broke his jaw bone. Titus tried to scream but it hurt to much to move it. He simply lie there and whimpered. While he was immobile, Diana strolled over to his other side and damaged the huge muscle in his left arm. "WHAM!..WHAM!" His gigantic body was flopping around like he was having an epileptic fit. Tears were streaming down both sides of his head and puddling in the grass. With his mighty arms out of commission, Diana straddled his thick neck and sat down. She used both hands to pull his head up by his hair and wrapped her strong legs around his neck. Then she tightened her legs on his neck like a python strangling it's victim and beat him senseless with both fists. The mighty Giant helplessly laid there while he struggled to breathe. "SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!..SMACK!"

Her hard hitting female fists knocked the huge Giant out cold. So he wasn't awake when Diana's strong legs crushed his wind pipe and he drew his last breath. When his enormous chest ceased to move up and down, Diana released his neck from her fleshy prison and proudly stood over his dead body. The Amazon warriors gathered around her while their victory cries echoed across the valley. Hippolyta hugged her daughter and thanked her for returning in their hour of need. "I'm an Amazon warrior mother. You and my Amazon sisters are first in my heart. I'll always answer your summons when you need my help." The two women hugged each other again before beginning the sorrowful task of collecting their dead. The dead bodies of their sister Amazons was carried back to the ship so they could be taken home and given a proper Amazon burial. When they were ready, they set sail for Paradise Island.

Hippolyta and the Amazon army was greeted with a victorious warriors welcome when they returned home. The Amazons who remained behind to guard their sacred homeland, prepared a great feast in honor of their victory. Diana stayed for a few more days to visit with her mother and enjoy the company of her Amazon sisters. Then she said good bye and returned to the real world where Wonder Woman was needed most. The Amazons settled back into their lives and continued to guard the doorway of doom. The Girdle of Gaea was safe and so was their beloved Queen. All was right with the world and the Gods in Olympus were satisfied.
