Web Feeds are becoming more and more popular i find. They allows computer users to have information sent to them without having to even go onto a web site. It is called RSS which stands for Really Simple Syndication. They allow you to see when sites from all over the internet have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and articles audio files, photographs or videos in one place, as soon as they are published.

This is a great new way of receiving daily news for people who may work all day in front of a computer and don't have time to search for news on there favorite web sites. It is a free subscription which is another advantage. Most web sites now offer an RSS feed which users can subscribe to and receive messages about there chosen subjects.

Pod Casting

Pod casting is the distribution of audio or video files. These can be of shows, radio programs or music videos. This is done over the Internet using RSS and Atom syndication.This allows listeners to listen to there favorite shows or bands from there computers of personal handheld devices.

Users can access programs via software such as i-tunes which you can download hundreds of radio shows and worldwide subjects and events. This allows it to be free for people to download and listen which makes it easy for people to setup a cast and allow other user to listen in. Shows that have been exclusive to pod casts such as the Ricky Gervias show which was 13 half hour radio shows for free on pod casts and where a hit. Pod casting's essence is about creating content for an audience that wants to listen when they want, where they want, and how they want. This is a great advance in technology as it is allowing people to have the option of being heard which is always a good sign.
