DVDx Tutorial

1. This is what DVDx will look like upon opening. Put in your DVD and click the noted button.

2. Locate and select your DVD drive. Something similar to this should appear. Choose what will probably be the second thing in the list and click Open. (If there is an error, go back and choose the other file.)

3. These are the default input settings, which should be okay.

4. This warning will most likely come up. Even so, there may or may not be a problem...it all just depends, I suppose.

5. The DVD should load into the window. Next, click the arrow-marked button, the "Output Settings."

6. This box should appear. Here you can choose the format of the ripped vid. The most popular/convenient is .AVI. If you do choose .AVI, you MUST select the codec with which to encode (shown by the second red arrow). The best choice is probably just the standard DivX codec. Click "Apply."

7. Sorry that this step is a little screwed up, but I got lazy with my screenshots. First, click the button where the bottom arrow is, which will bring up that dialogue box. Select "browse" and decide where you want to save the video. Also, you need to name the video in this step (just type whatever--anything--into the blank where they have *.*, above the box that says File Prefix).

8. That's it! Now just click Encode and...er...wait. ;)
