Growing up I never cared much for reading or appreciated what an increadable impact books can have on society. People spend so much time and money in colleges. Paying for other peoples time to get taught much of what could be learned with a library card, some time, effort, and a willingness to learn. Much of the knowledge of the world is lodged in books. When I first started reading, technical manuals mostly, I received quite a bit of criticism from people. They said I couldn't learn much from books I have to experience things in order to learn. My thinking is always was people wrote books to teach people from their experiences. Save the time, read their book, and continue on learning where they left off. One of the best things that happened in my life is my increase in the desire to start reading books.
