Coyote Joe Howling Coyote
Joseph Howling Coyote was born in the newly "Awakened" world of the 2030's. The Native American Nations had only recently reclaimed most of North America, after leaving the internment camps they had been cruelly and unlawfully imprisoned in, and Joe grew up in the years that followed amongst his band of White Mountain Apache. As time went on and he grew, he began to notice things about the world around him that nobody else seemed to notice, except perhaps Ghost Bear, the medicine man of his band.
Ghost Bear taught him the old ways, and Joe took to them quickly, making contact with his medicine guide at the age of 14.
Coyote guided him, and soon after the age of 15, Joe set out on his own, feeling the wanderlust of youth. He and his friend Frank traveled for a time before eventually they had a difference of opinion. Frank wished to leave the native lands, and travel to the metroplex to seek his fortune, while Joe fell more deeply into his religious beliefs, learning from Coyote whenever he could, soaking up the lessons like a sponge.
Unfortunately as is often the case, eventually even Joe fell on hard times....or perhaps it was mischief he was led to by his medicine guide.
Coyote is a great trickster spirit, and a powerful guide....but he has a wicked sense of humor. Joe fell in with a biker gang (or Go-gang as they're known in the awakened world) for a time outside the treaty city of Denver, and it was there that he learned about running the Shadows.
It was during this time that Coyote came to him in a vision and told him that his old friend Frank had been killed, and that he had left a child behind...and it was up to Joe to take the child in. He traveled then through the NAN smuggling himself across borders, and eventually into the Seattle Metroplex, to the hovel of his friend Frank....finding only a scared, and traumatized girl named Hope. From that moment on he and Hope "Glimmer" Gilmore were inseperable, and have been so ever since.
Four years ago, Coyote came once more to Joe in a vision and told him he must leave the world he and his now girlfriend Hope had been born in, and travel to a mystical city named Shangrila...that in the desert near this city he would find another biker gang, and that he must join them....as there would lie his destiny. He did as he was bidden to do, and it was there that he met a small half-breed Korean/Apache woman named Misha McCalin....and she was in need of guidance.
Joe knew why he had been sent there, and he undertook teaching this woman about her heritage...or at least about her Apache heritage, and over time the two of them developed their own relationship.
One day, for no discernable reason, Joe and Glimmer disappeared. For several years they were gone, until recently. Having returned, they have founded their own biker club. "The Ancients" MC.
