The Group offers children a chance for free play with other children of similar age, with a variety of toys and activities including a baby area, a book and jigsaw area, messy play/arts & crafts, and lots of equipment for physical development from a trampoline through ride-ons and push-alongs. For parents and carers we provide tea, coffee and a chance to meet up with other like-minded adults. All children must be accompanied by an adult – we are not a nursery.
We charge £2.50 per adult & child (extra £0.50 per additional child over 9 months) to cover the hall hire and refreshments.
Each session is structured roughly as follows and people come and go between these times:
Everyone who cares for young children is welcome at the group. Our regular attendees include not only mums and dads but also grandmas, nannies, au pairs and child minders of all ages and many nationalities. There’s no need to book – just turn up between 09:30 and 11:00 on a Monday* or Thursday and we will try to make you and your child(ren) feel welcome. (For security reasons the front door is locked on the inside – you may need to wave through the glass and wait for someone to let you in.)
If you’d like to know more about the group, please call Julia on 01223 521145.
*We usually close on bank holidays – please phone to check opening dates if you think we may not be open.

The Group is co-ordinated by a small committee. Our toys and equipment (including toddler-sized tables and chairs) are also available to hire by the week at a small charge. Perfect for parties or just for something new to play with over the weekend. From time to time we also run sales of art materials and childrens’ books – watch out for posters in the village for details.
