Our ranch is located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge near Goldendale, Washington. We are third generation ranchers and have been raising cattle at our location since 1929. All these years of experience have taught us many things. A lot of the methods we use are the traditional methods—we still use horses to round up the cattle, and we still use good old fashioned hard work to do all of the necessary chores around the ranch. As ranchers in the 21 st century, we look to technology to make our lives a little easier and to help us raise the best cattle we can. You could say that we have a good mix of traditions and new technology in our ranching practices.

Our herd consists of Simmental and Angus cross cattle. The calves are born here, nurse on their mothers and eat grass for 6-7 months then are weaned to a diet of hay and locally grown corn and barley. Any calves that are ever treated with antibiotics due to sickness will not be available for sale. We do not butcher sick animals.

In the past we have been selling our fat steers and heifers to Washington Beef packing plant in Toppenish, Washington where they have graded from 80 to 90 percent choice. With an increasing demand for our finished calves we have decided to sell directly to the public. Besides the fantastic taste and tenderness, we don’t use growth hormones and our cattle eat a strict vegetarian diet consisting of grain grown in our area and hay that we grow. We process the fat cattle between the ages of 13 and 14 months to ensure tender meat, adequate marbling, and size.
