City Under Seige
..good on toast...
This story begins in a very unlikely place, with another band in fact. John Wittlinger has always been passionate about music, and was previously in another band called Our Engagement. Due to creative differences however, the band suddenly ended and John lost not only a great musical outlet, but great friendships as well. So he began to write his own stuff and planned on doing a solo project. After returning to the studio, he quickly realized he would not be able to do this alone and he missed the companionship of having band mates. Enter Kevin Stephan. He too had just broken up with his band, Modern A. He was in search of joining another band, and had heard through a friend that John was looking for a drummer. Kevin called John as soon as he found out, and they planned to meet and practice together one day to see if they worked. Work they did. They adopted the band name, City Under Seige, which was originally just going to be the title of John's solo project. They went into the studio to record a few more songs, but still needed a bass player. They played their first show with a stand in, but knew they couldn't keep doing that much longer. One night they went out with a group of friends to a local restaurant, and found out their friend Jon Danat played bass. John immediately asked him to join, and they have been together ever since. Speaking from experience, these guys are hysterical and love to have a good time. They're very down to earth and at the end of the day would rather sit around with close friends playing board games and cracking jokes than anything else. Just don't forget, City Under Seige...good on toast.
