FF I & II / FF II Charlevoix-Beaver Island Pilot Program 2009

MFFTC and OFFT Authorized Charlevoix County Fire Academy within our county to provide video teleconferencing between the Island and the mainland as the test pilot program in 2009. All went well and thanks to all that supported us.

  • Fire Engines go to Island: (one from City of Charlevoix and one from Boyne Valley Township) were hauled to the island Friday aboard a Beaver Island Boat Company ferry along with about 22 firefighters from departments all over Northern Michigan to staff them.

    The ad-hoc fire department was on stand-by on the island from about 11 a.m. Friday until about 3 p.m. Saturday. This was done to allow all students within FF I & II and FF II to attend State Exam. PS: All 19 students attending have passed out of the 20 member department.
