Kalas Arrowthorn -- Kalas is a kagonesti elf who had joined with a band of hunters, set on disrupting the Dragonarmies activities by conducting raids on their trade routes. However, when one raid turned out to be a trap, Kalas barely escaped with his life. Had it not been for a group of would-be heroes travelling to Tarsis who happened upon the elf's body on the Plains of Dust, the kagonesti would likely have perished.

Korto Brechenhammer -- Korto is a Hylar dwarf of Thorbardin. He has lived under the mountain his entire life but has also dedicated his life to remembering Reorx, the dwarven god. Arman Kharas introduced Korto to Taurus in hopes that Korto can learn from the knight about the return of the true gods, and thus, bringing the divine powers of Reorx back to the dwarves.

After the death of Arman Kharas, Hornfel looked upon Korto as the son he lost, and asked the young dwarf if he would introduce the insular dwarven kingdom to the outside world for the first time in over 300 years.

Poog Rat-Charm -- Poog Rat-Charm is a gully dwarf from Parlanthis. Poog is quite special for an Ahgar, hold magical powers which resonate from no source that anyone on Krynn has seen before. Poog will have you think (as he thinks this himself!) that the power comes from the dead rat he has attached to a stick.

Poog has lead Derek Crowngaurd and his band of knights to Tarsis, for this is where the tablet that only the illiterate gully dwarf could read has lead them. Derek believes that a library hiden in Tarsis holds the information he seeks in his quest for the dragon orb.

Taurus Regulus -- A bastard child born in Solamnia, Taurus grew up learning of the old gods and took an interest in them. His forbidden love of a noble woman drove him to the ranks of the Solamnic Knights, where he had hoped that he could win the hand of the young lady. Realizing that he joined the knighthood for the wrong reasons, he decided to return to Solace and uphold the virtues of the Knightly Code to the letter.

Tierwester (deceased) -- Tierwester is a warlock who's history spans 300 years. During the Dwarfgate wars, Tierwester found himself allied with the brass dragon, Blaize, and the mountain dwarves of Hylar in their battle against the armies of Fistandantalis. During the battle, Tierwester was caught in a time stasis trap, becoming locked in time until he was released by the other heroes. With no knowledge of what had occured over the last 300 years, Tierwester agreed to join the group and find his own path in this new, strange world.

In a battle with the red dragon, Ember, atop the floating tomb of King Duncan, Tierwester climbed to the top of a tower as Ember seemingly fled. The warlock shouted a warning to the others that Ember was returning. When Ember came back, he engulfed Tierwester in burning hot flames. The last that was seen of Tierwester was a flaming body plummeting to the valley below.

Vexin Sixtoes -- Vexin is a rare thing on Krynn. He is a kender druid, who's love of nature rivals his insaitable curiosity. Currently travelling the Seeker Lands, the wanderlust has not abandoned this older kender. One thing is for certain, where ever he goes one will be sure to find his loyal companion, Skitters, a Dire weasel.

Zhage the Bleak -- A Wizard of High Sorcery wearing the red robes, Zhage has spent most of his life practicing magic. He is a prodigy, and his skill and power can only grow. He has since completed the Test of High Sorcery and is now returning to Solace after many years of magical training.

----------A----------

Aran Tallbow -- Aran is lean and tall, with red hair and a flowing moustache. He is easygoing, an very well liked by his fellow Knights, as he always is in good humor. Aran is also very good at archery, and is considered the best in all of Solamnia.

Aran comes from a long line of nobles who were all Knights of the Crown. He also is old friends of Brian Donner and Derek Crownguard both of whom he has joined in quest to find the mythical dragon orb. However, Aran is a staunch supporter of Gunthar Uth Wistan as the next Grand Master. Gunthar has asked that Aran go with Derek on the search in Tarsis. The leading Knights agreed and so Aran journeyed with both Brian and Derek to the city of Tarsis to begin the search.

Arman Kharas(deceased) -- Arman was born the son of Glade Hornfel Kytil and didn't share the same mother with his half-brother Pick. Arman is tall and extremely strong and built, and his personality is curt, yet polite, honest and truthful, considering lies and intrigues beneath him. Arman believes that he is the legendary dwarf, Kharas, reincarnate.

Arman died in the Temple of Stars, fighting for Thorbardin and the Hammer of Kharas. Verminaard had cast a vile spell which poisoned the dwarven prince. The moment before his death, Arman stated that he knew he was not really Kharas, finally seeing his own worth.

----------B----------

Blaize -- Blaize is a brass dragon, and apparently the only known good dragon left on Krynn. He was found in a stasis field in Skullcap. When he was released, it soon became apparent that he had been there since the Dwarfgate wars. He has recently taken it upon himself to protect the refugee's with Hawkeye, Jeren, Riverwind, and Goldmoon while the other heroes seek refuge for them with the dwarves of Thorbardin.

Brian Donner -- Donner is a Knight of the Sword who is good friends with both Derek Crownguard and Aran Tallbow. Brian is known to be brave, chivalrous, and bold. He upholds the good, defends the innocent, and plays peacemaker when he has to, especially while accompanying the hot tempered Derek Crownguard. He seeks to be spiritually whole, to find faith and meaning in the face of the darkness he shields others from. Brian truly believes that there are greater forces acting upon the world, and that it is his duty to somehow champion those forces in order to let others see the light.

Briar -- Briar is a tribal elder from Qué-Teh and has assumed the role of leader for the refugee plainsmen. This largest single faction is made up of plainsmen and some forest dwellers from far western Abanasinia. The Plainsfolk have never gotten along very well with the Townspeople, and this old attitude persists. The people of the Plains don’t really care that the Seekers think of them as savages, so they don’t typically return the animosity. The Plainsfolk count many warriors and experienced outdoorsmen among their number.

Briggsy Pospros -- A mercenary for hire, this young man has a unique past. He was born to the plains, but grew up under the care of his 'sister', Li'arlthi, after their people had been slaughtered. Luckly for them, they came upon a kender caravan and were taken in by these free spirited folk. Briggsy grew into becoming a fine sell-sword. Upon the companion's escape from Xak Tsaroth, Brigg left his friends to Solamnia to seek mercenary work with his sister.

Brooke Stonemason -- Brooke Stonemason is an elder from Gateway. She has taken the role as leader for the Townspeople. This faction is made up mostly of town dwellers from the towns of Solace, Gateway, New Ports, a handful of towns in northern and western Abanasinia, and the farmers that worked the fields nearby those towns. They have long resented the perceived meddling of the Seekers from Haven, and this is their chance to free themselves of it— due to the animosity of the Seekers toward the Believers. Brooke is on friendly terms with Elistan.

Derek Crownguard -- Derek Crownguard is a Knight of the Rose who's main aspiration in life is to become the Grand Master of the Knights of Solamnia. His biggest competition is Gunthar Uth Wistan, who orchestrated the initiation of non-noble blood into the ranks of the Knighthood. Derek opposed the idea but could not prevent this act from occuring. A young squire that was sponsored by Gunthar himself, named Taurus, became Derek's obsession. By making the young knight fail would show that Gunthar's idea was a failiure, and thus, unfit for the position of Grand Master.

Recently,Derek has volounteered to go on a quest to find the legendary draon orb. He wishes to use this artifact to defeat the dragonarmies, and in turn, lead him to the coveted position of Grand Master.

----------E----------

Eben Shatterstone(deceased) -- Originally hailing from Gateway, Eben's family made their fortunes as merchants in the sea-side town of New Ports. When the dragonarmies marched across the plains of Abanasinia, New Ports fell with many of the townsfolk perishing or being taken prisoner. Eben has since then dedicated himself to fighting the Dragonarmies in the form of creating a resistance. He is always on the look out to oppose the dragon highlord's forces, and when the companions meet him, he is eager to join them and their cause.

Eben has recently been given the leadership of the Free folks faction. The group consists largely of traveling merchants who have lost their fortunes, sailors who had been in New Ports, and a few sellswords who had refused to join the Dragonarmies. Though a small faction, they represent a great deal of fighting experience, as several of them are sellswords. Most scorn the Believers as naive dreamers.

It was later revealed the Eben had been an agent of Verminaard, working against the goals of the companions. In his moment of truth, Eben faced off against Zhage transformed into a lion and mauled the traitor to his bloody death.

Elistan -- Before the dragonarmies marched across the Plains of Abanasinia, Elistan held a prominent position within the Lordcity of Haven. He was the Highseeker, and was looked up to by most people who shared the same beliefs. When the dragonarmies marched across the plains, he was taken to Solace and thrown in the slave caravan headed for Pax Tharkas. Here, he witnessed the power of the true gods as he saw Theros Ironfeld magically healed.

When the elves of Qualinesti rescued the prisoners of the slave caravan, Elistan elected to stay with the remaining prisoners who did not wish to be freed for fear of harm befalling their captured families.

Elistan was put to work in the mines at Pax Tharkas, and when he fell, he nearly died. Verminard would have let the man die if he had not been such an important figure to the people of the Seekerlands. Still, the woman of Pax Tharkas would not be able to save him from this fate. Elistan would have died if it had not been for the companion's divine powers of healing. This furthered Elistan's belief that the ways of the Seekers were wrong.

Elistan now resides as the leader of a faction of the refugees. He Advocates the true gods now, and many refugee's have come to follow in his footsteps.

Ember (deceased)-- Ember is a huge, menacing red dragon who also acts as the Dragon Highlord, Verminaard's, personal mount. Ember is a dangerous opponent. In a deadly battle with Flamestrike abovePax Tharkas, Ember slew the elderly dragon as the heroes and refugees fled from the fortress.

Ember later encountered the heroes at Duncan's Tomb in The Valley of Thanes. He intended to take the Hammer of Kharas from the companions and bring it to Verminaard. In a deadly battle, Ember devoured Vexin's Dire Weasel, Skitters, and also claimed the life of Tierwester. Ember finally met his own death when Taurus severed the dragon's head from the rest of his body.

Evenstar (deceased)-- Evenstar is a giant dragon with golden scales. He is the guardian of Duncan's Tomb in the Valley of Thanes and he seems to take the form of an ancient dwarf who claims and looks like the dwarven hero, Kharas. It has been made apparent that Evenstar is unwilling, or unable to do battle against the evil red dragon Ember due to some oath that he has sworn to uphold. Not much more is known about the mystery of this oath.

After Ember's death, the tomb began to sink and fall apart. Evenstar transformed back into Kharas and his body aged before the companions. The keeper of the tomb died, apparently completing his task that was set before him; relenquishing the Hammer of Kharas to those worthy of it iconic powers.

----------F----------

Fizban the Fabulous -- This crazy old man claims to be a wizard. It is doubtful that he is, as he was first met talking to tree. Fizban disappeared in the chaos as the companions escaped from the slave caravan.

Fewmaster Toede -- A cowardly worm, Toede appears to have been blessed, as he is leader of his own band of hobgoblins despite any real skill. He also seems to have a great deal of influence over the High Theocrat Hederick, and some even say that it was Toede who suggested that the Theocrat look for the Blue Crystal Staff, as it would look favorable upon him he were to bring it forward to the High Seeker's Council in Haven.

Flamestrike (deceased)-- Flamestrike assists the Dragonarmies by serving as a guard over the refugees of Pax Tharkas. An ancient red dragon at this point, she is more than nursemaid than their guard. The senile dragon referred to the youngest members of the refugees as her children, and doted on them completely. This is due to the fact that she lost her own children during the third dragon war. Flamestrike was killed in a titanic battle by Ember. She died defending her "children" after Ember threatened to burn them to death.

----------G----------

Gilthanas Kanan -- Gilthanas grew up as the middle child of the elven royal family. Gilthanas does not share the same animosity towards humans that his brother and father have. In fact, it was Theros Ironfeld, the human smithy of Solace, who nearly lost his own life in helping Gilthanas save elves in Solace from the Dragonarmies. Gilthanas has been instructed to lead the companions through the secret passage of Sla-Moir which will take them into the fortress of Pax Tharkas.

Glade Hornfel -- Glade Hornfel is known for his brawny forearms, well-muscled shoulders, hawk-like brown eyes, regal good looks, brown hair turn silver over the years, and scars on his hands and arms for his years of battling for Clan Hylar. His writing is known to have been thin and precise. He is also known to have an impeccable judge of character, to be a master debater, a excellent leader, and a master of the sword and tongue.

Goldmoon -- Goldmoon is pure of heart and completely, deeply in love with Riverwind. Her sense of duty is very strong. Because she is Chieftain's Daughter, she is used to being obeyed. Riverwind has so far not been able to overcome his awe of her position. He rules her heart, but she is his ruler. Goldmoon is deeply religious and has a strong affinity for nature in all its aspects. Although she is somewhat formal, her personal warmth and generosity make her a well-liked and charming companion. She is brave and not afraid of death. Her love for Riverwind is undying, the strongest force in her life.

Gunthar Uth Wistan -- Gunthar is the nominal leader of the High Council Knights of Solamnia, but does not have the complete support of all the knights in order to claim the title of Grand Master. His strongest competition for Grand Master is Derek Crownguard, a fellow knight of the Rose.

Hawkeye -- A plains barbarian from Abanasinia, Hawkeye became a great hunter and scout. One day, he was away from his tribe only to return to find that they had all been killed, the only trace of the attack were large scorch marks. His mother, on her death bed, claimed that this was punsihment from the true gods, and that Hawkeye must pave the way into bringing the old faith back to his people.

Hawkeye has recently begun to drown his sorrows into the bottom of dwarven spirits. He attributes this to the quarrel between he, Taurus and Eben, feeling that he is of less use to the kinght than Eben was, despite Hawkeye's strong feelings against Eben.

High Theocrat Hederick -- Hederick is the leader of Solace, representing the High Seekers from Haven. He is an arrogant man who thinks that he can rule with an iron hand. He has recently hired a hobgoblin named Toede to help find a Blue Crystal Staff that has been spotted in the Seeker Lands.

Henrik Quartzhall -- Henrik Quartzhall is from the daegar dwarven clan of Thorbardin. He is a dwarven defender and champion of the clan. His loyalty to Thane Rance is undying and unquestioning.

Hugon Barker -- Hugon Barker is a kender struck with wanderlust. He happened upon the ruins of Xak Tsaroth and thought it looked like a wonderful place to explore. After climbing down the chain for the lift, the curious kender was captured by three hungry draconians. Luckly for him, Vexin found him while his captors fought over who got to eat poor Hugon.

Her devotion to the goddess has brought her closer to the true gods than most, and she has been presented with a quest: to find the true leader of the people. She will need all of her skills if she is to be successful.

Jeren has since helped in finding the true leader of the people in Elistan. At Elistan's request, he has asked Jeren to remain with the refugees of Pax Tharkas as a spiritual leader as well as a protector of the meek.

Kharas (deceased)-- Kharas was the dwarven hero of Thorbardin, named "Knight" for his honor by the Solamnics. Kharas wielded the Hammer of Kharas in the name of High King Duncan. The Hammer was iconic in that whoever possessed it, could lay claim to the throne.

When the gods cast the mountain onto Istar the dwarves were forced to make a terrible decision. King Duncan seeing that the food stores in Thorbardin could not support both his people and the Neidar ordered the gates closed. This caused a the Dwarfgate War in which the Neidar believed that their cousins and trapped them outside to leave them to die. The truth of the matter was that King Duncan was forced to make a decision and decided that the Neidar would have a better chance at surviving outside. His only alternative was to take all the dwarves inside the mountain and be unable to feed them. Kharas argued against the barring of the gates of Thorbardin saying that the dwarves should live or die as one. When the army of Fistandantilus marched on Pax Tharkas, Kharas urged Duncan, High King of Thorbardin, to propose peace and his king agreed to make the attempt. It failed, however, and he ordered Kharas to take the field.

Kharas fought well during the war. In an effort to end the war quickly, he volunteered to lead a daring strike against Fistandantilus himself. Using the tunnels underneath the Plains of Dergoth, he and four other dwarves entered the dwelling of Fistandantilus and he wounded the Dark Mage before being forced to retreat.

Afterwards, Kharas became disgusted with the war and grew despondent as it raged on. He shaved off his beard before the battle to show his shame of his people. Then came the magical explosion of Zhaman: Fistandantilus magic swept across the Plains of Dergoth, killing everyone. Kharas returned to Thorbardin, carrying two of the three sons of Duncan. The High King eventually died and soon open bickering broke out between thanes over who would be the next High King. Revolted, Kharas told the thanes that none of them deserved to be High King. He left, But not before stating that one-day, the hammer would return and a proper king would take the throne and reunite the clans.

Kharas was later found in the Tomb of King Duncan nearly 350 years later. It was later discovered that Kharas had actually died in the tomb after laying the body of King Duncan to rest, stung by a scorpion, and the imposter was in fact Evenstar, the gold dragon.

Lauralanthalasa Kanan -- Lauralanthalasa Kanan, or just Laurana for short, is the only daughter of the Speaker of the Sun, Solostaran Kanan. She is the youngest of his three children and it shows in her behaviour and her lack of knowledge in the outside world.

Li'arlthi -- Brigg's older sister (not by blood), Li'arlthi is a skilled warrior. She is willing to sell her sword to the highest bidder, which is probably why she is making her way to Solamnia, where war is on the horizon. She has recently attempted to recruit her little brother to join her, but he declined as he had other obligation to tend to.

Locar -- Locar, who was once Deputy Highseeker under Elistan, now calls himself the Highseeker. He hates Elistan with all his being and is determined to see him fail.

Onyx (deceased) -- This evil black dragon was the protector of the Blue Crystal staff before Riverwind came into possession of it. Angry at her faliure in keeping one of the relics of Mishakal out of the hands of the humans, she sent out search parties from Xak Tsaroth to look for it. It was key to the Dragonarmies that if the staff could not be recovered that the Disks of Mishakal remain hidden. Unfortunately for Onyx, a group of weary adventurers made their way into the city of Xak Tsaroth, Killed Onyx, and escaped with the coveted Disks of Mishakal.

Otik Sandath -- A middle-aged man, short and rotund, with pudgy hands and a cheerful smile, Otik Sandath is the famous owner of the famous Inn of the Last Home. Otik is bestknown for his ale, whose reputation for excellence has spread throughout Ansalon, and for his remarkable spiced potatoes.
Otik loves to gossip and knows everything that is worth knowing about Solace and its inhabitants. He is his own best customer when it comes to his ale and his potatoes. He is a kind-hearted and generous man, who tends to vanish whenever danger threatens.

Rance(deceased) -- Rance is the dwarven Thane of the Daegar clan. He has made a deal with Verminaard which will give him the Hammer of Kharas and thus the throne of Thorbardin. In exchange, Rance has given Verminaard access into Thorbardin via the Gaurdian Hall in the Valley of Thanes, which is controled by the Daegar clan. However, Verminaard has apparently betrayed the dwarven thane and plans to keep the hammer and rulership of the dwarven realms for himself or at the very least, give it to Realgar, Thane of the Theiwar.

In the ultimate betrayal, Verminaard told the Daegar thane that the Hammer of Kharas would be given to him so that he may rule as steward of Thorbardin in Verminaard's name. When Verminaard revealed his plan to rule himself, Rance became outraged and attacked Verminaard outright. The highlord cast a magic spell upon the thane, making it impossible for the dwarf to move. Verminaard then ordered Eben to kill Rance. Before Eben could act on the command, the Daegar warriors ran to their leader's aid, only to be opposed by the Theiwar dwarves in league with the Dragonarmies.

During the battle, Verminaard summoned a vile, wraith like dragon to destroy his enemies. The still frozen Rance was the first victim of this new threat; he errupted into dust, and blew away in the wind.

Ravek Dravos -- Not much is know about Ravek other than he is travelling with Li'arlthi to the northern lands of Solamnia. He and Li'arlthi are looking for work and since they claim a war is brewing in Solamnia, they will find employment there. But with his apparent disdain towards the Knights of Solamnia, one must wonder what side of the war he will be fighting on.

Realgar -- Realgar is a Thane of the Theiwar. He is scrawny, and under-sized for a dwarf, he has a scraggly beard, with rotten-teeth. It is clear that he opposes the heroes, but it has yet to be discovered if this hatred for the heroes comes from the fact they are allied with his most hated enemy, Arman Kharas, or if there is some other, unknown reason all together.

Riverwind -- Riverwind sought the hand of Goldmoon, the daughter of the chieftain of his tribe. Goldmoon's father, however, had a different idea; In an attempt to rid himself of Riverwind, he said that only if Riverwind could find a sign of the true gods and return it to the village, would he allow him to wed his daughter. Riverwind left and was put to the test. He returned, ill with a fever and suffering from delirium but in his possession was a staff which Riverwind claimed was a gift from the true gods. When the staff did not display their powers, the chieftain sentenced Riverwind to death by stoning. Has the rocks fell upon him, Goldmoon ran to his side. This is when the staff teleported the two safely away from the deadly barrage.
Riverwind is a towering, imposing man of few words and quick action. He is fiercely protective of Goldmoon and loves her beyond life itself. Yet he is all too conscious of the social barrier between them, and obeys her as Chieftain’s Daughter. He is quick to anger and aloof. He is distrustful of strangers until they have proven themselves, but once he calls someone “friend” he will lay down his life for them.

Sestun -- Sestun the gully dwarf involantarily served as Fewmater Toede's lacky. After being verbally abused by Toede, Sestun freed the prisoners of Solace from their cage during the Qualinesti rescue. He ran off only to be captured by dragonarmies. Set to be fed to the dragon, Ember, Sestun was rescued by heroes in Pax Tharkas from this fate and has become the only gully dwarf member of the Refugees.

Solostaran Kanan -- The leader of the Qualinesti elves, Solostaran has a large task set before him. The exodus of his people as they are ever threatened by the dragonarmies at their boarders. Much to his chagrin, he is relying on humans (and a kender!) on creating a diversion in order to help his people escape the inevitable massacre. Perhaps if the heroes are successful, they might be able to change the stubborn elven leader perspective and in turn, gain a powerfull ally.

Theros Ironfeld -- Theros, a master blacksmith, carpenter, and builder, runs Solace’s smithy. He has just returned to Solace after a long absence, having just finished a large job for the elves of Qualinesti before re-setting up shop in Solace. Theros is a large, powerfully built man with a gruff, no-nonsense demeanor; he doesn’t easily suffer fools, kender, or people who waste his time.

Recently, the smithy was caught helping elves escape by the occupying dragonarmy forces. The blacksmith fought defiantly but was overwhelmed which cost him his right arm.

Tika Waylan -- Tika Waylan barmaid at the Inn of the Last Home, is a brash teenager who has had a rough life. The daughter of a thief who also practiced sleight-of-hand and small-time illusions, Tika ran away from home at age 10 to live in Solace. She grew up tough and fast in the streets of Solace, and was an accomplished thief by the age of 15. She only has one memento of her father—a gold ring she wears on a chain around her neck.
One day, she tried to rob Otik Sandath, proprietor of the Inn of the Last Home, but she was caught in the act. Otik's first inclination was to have her arrested. But he was touched by the innocence he saw under the tough street-kid personality, and instead offered her a job. At first she accepted only to keep out of jail, but she grew to love Otik as a father.

What his ultimate goals are are, and if he works alone is unknown, but he seems to be a powerful and evil man who wields great power.

Verminaard revealed his master plan to conquer Thorbardin; he intended to let the companions lead him to the hidden North Gate of Thorbardin, have them retrieve the Hammer of Kharas, take it from them, and become the ruler of the dwarven kingdom himself. His plan had worked up until the final meeting where he planned to use Eben, the traitor he had planted within his enemies ranks, to give him the hammer. The dragon highlord was slain by Taurus, truly showing that the might of Kiri-Jolith rivals that of Takhisis, the Queen of Darkness.
