Delbáeth was born in 1299. Delbáeth's father was Lugh Lamfada and his mother was Moytura Shearbeinn. His paternal grandparents were Cían and Ethlinn. He was the oldest of two children. He had a brother named Cermait. He died, at the age of 72, in 1371 in the Uisnech Mountains due to natural causes or old age.
