Well "the grass on the other side" is not so green in the worlds of these children. Getting a babysitter is unheard of. Tears, helplessness and other feelings replace the hair pulling and screaming. However giving up is NEVER an option for the parents. And neither is wanting to be on the "other side". Although these children with syndromes or disabilities can be a hard world to live inside, these children are also the core of our own lives which we would never trade for anything in the world. Sure, we wish our children were "normal", but then again, the love, the joy, the happiness and the innocence that they give to us is the most rewarding experience of all. Because of that, we wouldn't wish for any other life.
We now invite you to come and visit what a "normal" day with our children is all about. These are TRUE stories from REAL parents. No "medical" talk about a syndrome where you are left still wondering what life would be like having a child who required special care. No "medical facts" told on the conditions of the syndrome or disability leaving you still confused, rather here is the honest truth of what you would go through day in and day out, 365 days of the year.
NOTE: Please keep in mind that each child has it's own severity of what they suffer from so what one life may be like for one family is not the same as another family. Just like any family, living situations make us all different. Some of these stories may be hard for you to read if you are sentimental. This is solely to show others so we can raise awareness and understanding. Thank you.
Finally I would like to thank the parents of the children listed below for allowing us to look into the window of their lives.
If you have a story to share, please email it to the email below. We are looking for stories of ALL types of syndromes and disabilites and would like an story of a "normal" day in your house.
