The Blue jays evened up their record at 1-1 after falling in game 2 of the opening season series to the defending american league champions Detroit Tigers. And the Tigers showed why they are just that in the 3rd inning of this one as it was not the kind of start AJ Burnett invisioned in his game.Burnett game up 6 runs on 5 hits 2 stolen bases by Marcus Granderson and Placido Polancoand then a couple of RBI Singles and the Jays were down 3-0.Burnett would leave the game down 3-0 but left Shawn Marcum in a deep hole to get out of Marcum walked in one run which was charged to Burnett and then game up a Grand slam homerun to Marcus Granderson.Which left Butnett with 6 earned runs against him and the Blue Jays in an 8-0 Hole. And the Tigers would not stop there as in the bottom of the 4th they would add another run on a sacrifice groundout to make it 9-0 after 4 innings of play.Tha Blue Jays would finally hit the scoreboard in the top of the 6th when Aaron Hill blasted his 1st homerun of the season and the Jays then trailed 9-2.But the giers got that back in the bottom of the 7th when Marcus Granderson picked up his 5th RBI of the game tripling to right field. But the Blue Jays would not go away that easy as in the top of the 8th they sparked a 7 run inning to only trail by 1 when one of the new comers to the Jays Jason smith came thru with a big 3 run triple to help spark that inning but it would all be for not as the jays left the tying run on base in both the 8th and 9th inning and fell to the tigers 10-9 But they showed they will not go away easy this year no matter what the score.Gustavo Chacin will get the ball for the Jays tomorrow in the finale of this 3 game series in Detroit he will go against Justin Verlander,it all statrts at 1:05 PM.
