Lovely natural gem stones! Enamels on copper! Lampwork Beads! Dichroic Glass! I can't decide. Until I do I'll just keep working with all four and loving every minute.
My latest "fun" is working with enamels. This is something that I have been interested in for many years but only recently found a class nearby. Enamel is ground glass which is fired onto copper, silver, or gold and sometimes onto glass. The colors are very vibrant and you can make jewelry, functional pieces like bowls or plates or just art work. The lerning curve is about 6 months, of course it really is an on going learning process, so it will be some time before I feel ready to offer enamel jewelry in my store.
About 7 years ago I became a silversmith so I could make jewelry using unusual gems. I still make gemstone jewelry but about 3 1/2 years ago I discovered dichroic glass and found that it makes very lovely jewelry as well as beautiful directive pieces. Go to my Dichroic Glass page for more information.
About a year and a half ago, I started to make lamp work beads. This is a real challenge but also very rewarding. Using glass rods, micas and enamels I can produce many different affects in glass. Go to my Lamp Work Beads page for more information.
I hope you will visit my store and look at some of the jewelry that I have made. Since I still do craft shows, not all of my inventory is online. I will be changing the selection from time to time so if you don’t see something you like, please come back later or email me and let me know what you are looking for.
