South Californian local band, BlindSpot are not focused on going famous and making tons of money, these talented guys are only trying to make their music come true, and have fun. The band has always dedicated on a local-only scenario. But this past year the band's boundaries have extended a lot more than they had ever planned.
The band started on 1997, as a Reggae rock band, their name was Old creek, and it was formed by Joseph Bennington (JR), Alexander Jenkins (AJ), Ryan Stewart (Cobain), Micheal Smith (Mike), Seth Schmidt (S2)... but on lates of 1998, JR left the band and took the name with him. At the moment the band had a break, to find a new vocalist for them; on the begining of 2000, Davis joined the band as a vocalist and second guitarist; the band adopted the name Violent whispers, and they kept on working on the same only-local party scenario, only with a different genre, they no longer played reggae rock, they started with their punk rock grooves.
On 2005, because of legal problems (due to a dissagreement) the band had to change their name to BlindSpot. On the same year AJ decided to leave stage for personal reasons, but is still manager and producer of the band, and Mike also left the band for college, but is still playing with the band as their guest. These events have reduced the band members from five to only three of them. Yet, their sound is awesome.
BlindSpot comes full force with their blend of Punk & Rock grooves that always leave clubs goers screaming for more. With a tight, fun show and catchy melodies, these guys never disappoint. On the past year (2004-2005) the band has gained a lot of public in the Californian area, which has brought them to play in several clubs around town, and several festivals. The most important one for the band was the Reign of fire 2005 festival in Germany, where they got to play for a consecutive week along with other great bands. The guys have several demos, and are working on a first official album which will be coming out on January of 2006.
Look out for BlindSpot on the local Californian and
Nevada rock clubs and bars!
