Welcome to the new HU Biology Seminar web site!

A Brief History of Biology Seminar:

Biology Seminar began in 198? as an occasional meeting of faculty and students at which an interresting journal article would be discussed. As such a practice took hold in mainstream biology academic institutions across the country, HU's occasional meetings were formed into weekly meetings to be atteneded by all Biology faculty and students. With each passing semester incremental changes have been made to the structure and requirements of the course. Consequently, the format, content, and level of presentation of student seminars has improved to the point that the presentations are of national meeting quality. Our seminar course is now widely viewed by the Biology department to be indispensible and our "capstone" course.

Fall 2006 Seminar Agenda:

Periodically throughout this fall semester our seminar series will feature presentations that center on the topic of Developmental Biology. While not all presentions will touch on this theme, the biology of developmebnt will frequently appear during our weekly sessions.

We are actively working to invite dynamic guest speakers. As the semester calendar indicates, we have several senior student presentations on the docket for later in the semester.
